It seems gig speed internet connections are coming. Are you going to shell out the extra cash for them? Think it'll be worth your money and assist your trading executions?
Many thanks to the site and all the contributors. Great source of info.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I don't think will help much with executions since that is mainly dependent on latency not the size of the pipe. Latency highly dependent on distance. So only way to overcome that and get better executions is get close to exchange you are trading. My guess is something like google fiber might be marginally better on latency. That being said I want giga but not because will help with trading execution.
"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."
Speed is good but proximity to the execution hub is your main concern and latency of the infrastructure between where you are and where your deals are executed to the exchange. If you're interested in this topic, many brokers offer co-location of your trading system on their servers that bring you right next door to the exchange. Not literally but as close as you can get to DMA (direct market access) as a retail guy, and at a price you can afford.
