I am using one 42" now, at 1920x1080. It feels weird for some things, but for higher charts works fine. The resolution looks similar to a 24" through VGA. I enter a trade in greater detail, but it is great for when I am in a trade and letting it do it's thing. I can lay on the couch, kick my feet up on my desk, make something in the kitchen, and still see what is happening.
I set my desk up where I sit a lot further back from the screens than I used to, with the 42" mounted roughly 18" in front of the edge of my desk (slightly behind the 24" screens and tilted slightly down). If it had to sit on the desk it would not be comfortable on my eyes at all. That is one reason I am wanting 4k potential throughout.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I know Big Mike just responded above, but there is no benefit to using 42" displays of 1920x1080, bearing in mind that resolution is standard on a 24" (or smaller display). It effectively uses twice the real estate to display the same amount of (pixel) information: you effectively end up being able to display less and you'll be potentially end up with tennis-center-court-seats-neck-syndrome.
There are even 23" monitor that will display something like 2048x1152; I have 6 of them (and more monitors). The 6 are in a 3x2 configuration. if we take the 1st 4 monitors, in their 2x2 configuration, the rough (diagonal measured size) is 46", but I have 4096x2304 pixels of information displayed.
Also, check that video card for 4 monitor support; sometimes the 4 outputs aren't necessarily 4 different monitors. If they are, that 4th displayport output needs a displayport connector right on the monitor; using a convertor plug almost alwyas requires a ACTIVE adapter (as opposed to a cheaper PASSIVE DVI-to-displayport adapter); an active displayport adapter can sometimes be found (ACCELL) for $20 on sale, down from their $30+ regular price.
Assuming the resolution of your 23" monitors is 1920x1080p, then you can fit exactly the same information on the 23" as you an on your 42" TV. They are the same resolution. The difference is they are just grainy, blown up images on the 42" and look bigger, but contain no more information. Every pixel is twice as big.
But I can scale Sierra down on the upper screen, and/or up o the lower screen, to get a chart above to resemble one below. I do not like it at all for things like reading footprint, but for standard time charts it is great, and I had the extra TV not doing anything. i just plugged it in one day to see if I liked it or not, and it took some time to get it worked out.
I am currently running the upper off a different computer right now, and I may lose some flexibility once all 4 are driven by the same Sierra install, but I think I can remedy any issues by making the upper charts not follow the Global Graphics preferences. I'll know soon.
For things like web browsing I have to scoot back another 2-3 feet to not feel overwhelmed
Acoording to https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp=1926&cmp=1942&cmp=1993 the E3-1245 v3 scores a bit higher than the 1230v3 (+100mhz clock), the 1225 has no hyperthreading and 200mhz lower speed, indeed quite an unexplainable drop in that synthetic benchmark because the architecture should be very the same.
1 click of the mouse to resize/reposition windows using custom presets
"large" charts provide significantly more chart data than a TV due to far greater resolution.
1 GPU, no rescaling up or down. No adjusting viewing distance.
Effective for all applications, not just charts.
Use a program like NT and you can toggle through numerous workspace layouts also

Especially when you go there and see so many dozens of other computer and electronic components, media, supplies, magazines, books, supplies, printers, laptops, custom answers, repairs, free coffee, support and proper atmosphere for a Tech Head!
No, they do not have the Silverstonetek.com cases. No, they did not have the Australian made Noctua cpu fans, but they certainly had other equivalents and at comparable prices, and no, they nor any vendor, in this super competitive, instant price adjustment world, they nor any shop, will ever be the best place for single pricing. I noticed that my past orders with Newegg, TigerDirect, ZipZoomFly (defunct now) and Directron (which NEVER answers the phone at ALL) were significantly higher, and not by just a few bucks, by tens to dozens of dollars (twenties and thirties too) on most all components across the board. Starting with the AMD / Intel cpu's, to the motherboards of your choice, to the memory sticks, to theHDD's/SSD's to the graphics cards and on from there! Cases too.
Oh well, if one isn't near you after a 2 hour drive, then wait until you're in a city where you're no business and plan on at least 2 visits of 2 hours each. You WILL NOT leave empty handed.
that's the best free advice I can share with all on these threads. They are simply over the top!
