Internet - Continuous Health / Status - Visual Representation

My Internet has gone real bad in the last 2-3 days. In fact it has become horrible. I was looking for some tool which could visually present the Status of my Internet connection over a period of 24 hours, so I tried this free software PingPlotter - PingPlotter - PingPlotter helps you pinpoint where the problems are in an intuitive graphical way, and to continue monitoring your connection long-term to further identify issues.

Here are a few snaps showing the Internet health at different times
The red line represents those times when the ping took +500 ms

With no red lines -

Internet gone Horrible !

Are you aware of any other tool / software that visually plots the health of Internet over a period of time ? So that we can come to know about it easily in a visual format.

Thanks

PS: I assume that if there are 3-4 red lines simultaneously then that would mean there was a gap in internet connectivity for those moments"and we would miss trade ticks of those particular seconds from our datafeed - in my case -Esignal". If this assumption is wrong, please let me know.

Are you using a wired or wireless connection from your computer to your router/cable modem?

Mike

I wouldn't worry about other tools than PingPlotter or missed data ticks, eSignal is pretty good at recovering connections but I would say you seriously need your current internet fixed or replaced with a better ISP! Maybe it's just a bad phase while work is being done, can only hope so else look quickly for a better supplier.
Cheers

Good thought, I don't use wireless but we noticed a significant drop in wireless quality over here as the new 4G networks started to roll out on some of our old TV frequencies, maybe it's something similar or another new source of neighbourly interference, in which case a channel switching router might help.

Mike, it is a wired broadband connection with ADSL Modem.

You guys will not believe that here in India, 1 mpbs speed is still considered to be a good broadband connection -

I am really amazed when you guys post the snaps of download speed of 50 mpbs+ . I have never seen that kind of download speed in front of my own eyes till now. I can only imagine how good that would be. Specially if the ISP provide unlimited download plans with reasonable cost.

Thanks

@ab456, I was specifically asking about between your desktop/laptop and your modem/router --- wired, or wireless? I am not 100% sure from your answer if you were referring to the ISP connectivity or your connection to your home router (which is what I am asking).

sorry Mike, I was not clear with that reply.

My desktop is wired to the Modem.
And my Modem + Landline Phone both are wired to my ISP.
So no wireless stuff involved in this case.

And Oh MY GODDDDDDDDDD !!! You have taken my breath away for a moment... 180+ Down and Up speed !!! Unbelievable stuff. Never seen that kind of download speeds. How much time will it take to download 1 GB of data on your internet connection ? And does your ISP provide some unlimited data plans as well ?

Thanks and Regards

That is still usable, I had the same in a previous rural country location, so long as you are not scalping off tick charts and that level is solid, your problem for now is more reliability than raw speed, eSignal with minute charts doesn't need much more than 8-12kbit/s and a half-decent ping will let trades work easy enough if held longer than I normally can...
