I am wondering if it is safe to trade at a remote server or a cloud.

For example, will your indicators and strategies be stolen?

Do you really think it's a risk? The thief can't easily know what is the logic behind, how profitable (or not ) it is and so on.
If he finally tries to sell it or use it then it's a fool!

How easy is it for a technician working for the remote server or the cloud
to be able to see the code you upload into there?

With a little bit effort you can compile some of your stuff in a DLL
and put something in the DLL that makes it difficult to run it elsewhere

Best protection probably is to make it work, but with wrong parameters
as the thief will not see it and the stolen module will be worthless

I posted on the forum how to make DLL and how to use them

Additionally you can obfuscate the DLL to make it harder to decompile.

If you secure your server, the only risk is physical theft -- not remote access. Physical theft is mitigated by not being an idiot and selecting a good datacenter.

If you are not a system admin, then you had better hire a good company with a good reputation, otherwise you will likely misconfigure the server and leave it open to remote access. I should point out that when I say remote access, I am not at all talking about employees of the datacenter. The chance of that (what you describe) is zero. Instead, I am talking about brute force attacks to gain access and use your server as a botnet. Not to steal any data. No one wants your data.

I would also add, not to steal your indicators or your strategies. No one is going to want them, either.

Really, you'd be an anonymous guy running some code on a server. Unless you're George Soros or someone like him, and they know it, no one is going to care enough to want to steal your secrets. They're safe.

Bob.
