Which microphone sounds best?

Out of these three, which sounds best?

See attachment. Three sections repeating the same thing with three different microphones in my office.

I will tell you the specifics on each microphone later after people make some votes.

Number 2 was awful!

I would suggest getting a Yeti, alternatively a Snowball, from Blue Microphones.

Same here, #1 and #3 then #2, and #1 and #3 are close, but a small echo with #3.

1) #1
2) #3
3) #2

#3 has a little more low end than #1 but's it's missing some of the low mids. It also has more of a tinny sound
predominately seen at around 2-4kHz in the male voice.

I think #1 has the most even frequency response out of the 3 microphones.

In all the webinars I've viewed on futures.io (formerly BMT) I always thought your mic (during the introduction) was much better than the presenter's in most cases. Some sound like they're broadcasting from a cell phone in a port-a-potty!

I vote for 1 then 3 ........ was wondering if you're using a pop filter?

I will share all the details after some more people share their impressions.

I also have a 4th mic that will be here Monday that I will add to the lineup for testing. Then decisions to be made about which one to keep, and which to return or ebay.

#1 and #3 were very similar, nice warm tone with just a hint of echo, #2 sounded like a very poor response mic but no echo..

I took part of your original mic #1 and recorded it as is. I also took that
and put it through a, I think, a high pass filter, in a free program called Audacity.
The second version doesn't sound great, but is just an example of what can
be done to make what you have already, sound a little better.

The link should show you that you can remove all that bass with some software.

Unfortunately I don't know what software to tell you to use since you are dealing
with making videos.Audacity only deals with mp3, wav. etc which I didn't know till just now.

There must be something out there though, for altering audio in videos???

original and altered.mp3 - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

Never used this site before. If it doesn't work let me know.

This is funny. I have hearing loss from cupping my ear to my shoulder during live fire, but for someone like me, #2 is by far better. haha...
