I've been waiting for this thing to release for a while and am looking forward to it. Too bad it isn't shipping with ICS, but I think it will just be a few short weeks and ICS will be an OTA update.
The broken WiFi is a big concern right now, as both Anand and CNet reviewers experienced the problem. Kinda scary.
Not certain when I will get it due to supply constraints, but all the reviews have been very favorable except for the possible bad wifi, and I am really looking forward to the device. It will be my first tablet, and I look forward to decommissioning my notebook -- a ThinkPad T61p that weighs 7 pounds (5 times as much as the Prime). That is simply too much to comfortably use in bed for long duration, which is the objective of this device for me --- reading forum, replying to emails, pm's and posts, while not being at my desk.
The Prime is perfect, just unsnap it from the keyboard dock when browsing, and quickly snap it back to keyboard if I need to write a longer email, post or PM.
I've got several pre-ordered.
I already have the first edition Transformer and I love it.
I was one of the first on the list at Amazon.com.
Then the rumors came that they were cancelling orders.
So I ordered a few more from other sources just in case.
I've seen them on Ebay for a lot more,
so I don't think selling it will be a problem if I can't cancel the additional ones.
You can demo one at some of the GameStop locations.
( I checked one out at the local store).
It is much faster than mine and thinner and looks great.
Playing Riptide on it (I'm not a gamer) is so kewl.
I felt like I was going to get wet when the water splashed on the glass.
Rejoice in the Thunderstorms of Life . . .
Knowing it's not about Clouds or Wind. . .
But Learning to Dance in the Rain ! ! !
Sure. Heard some disappointing news today about J&R pre-orders not shipping until mid January. I don't want to buy it from GameStop, so I don't have to pay tax...
There is a production problem with wi-fi, so Asus is delaying shipments a couple of weeks while they work on a fix. I'll be cancelling my pre-order and waiting until I can confirm the hardware revision and fix.
