Yes. Price, size, all good actually. I don't own an iPad or a tablet and want one... mainly for just browsing the web while I am in bed. My notebook is too big and heavy. I could buy an ultra-portable, but those are expensive when all I really need is a web browser.

I'm also an Amazon Prime member already, so the tablet is an even better value for me because of all the free movies I get.

Hmmm... perhaps a Christmas gift for myself?

I impulsively pre-ordered one of these because of the price.

My thought process was - reading books in bed (mostly safari online) AND... getting an android vnc client and trading with it. Just kidding .. mostly

I bought one too. No risk, if I don't like they will take it back no restocking fee etc.

I'm considering whether or not this will be sufficient for me, or if I should get the Transformer 2.

what the heck are you planning on doing with it if you dont mind me asking? If and when I get it, I'll probably just surf the web on it. I don't even need one, trying to think of a good way to justify it. Are you going to run a large hadron collider simulation on yours or something? :P

Mainly surfing, email -- the concern is the screen might be a bit too small.

I have a Nook Color, appears to be the same size as the Kindle Fire. I added the chip to make it a full fledged 32 gig android device. It surfs great but the screen is definantly too small for some things.

if you don't read books in PDF format, then the 7" will be fine. It is actually perfect for reading. But if you have books in PDF, the text is too small. This is where ipad win hand down.

Ipad is perfect to read book in PDF format.

Another good thing about ipad is you can actually read it in the dark. You can turn down the brightness to really dim even at night in iBook. No other tablet I have had can turn down the brightness at dark. Tired your eyes after like 15 to 30 minutes.

I owned a Nook, G Tab and Ipad. Sold the Nook and G Tab.
