i was wondering how one would get to a previous post number while within a thread? so like if someone lists a buncha post #s and says to go check them out, how does one do that quickly w/o trying to guess which page its on etc..?
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There is no easier way than to jump to the appropriate page. There are typically 10 posts per page, so you can do the math as to where the post will be in the thread (page number). However, when users delete posts, or if a spam post is deleted etc, then it can cause the 10 post per page numbering to be off a bit.
Example, post # 250 is probably on page 24 or 25. Post # 1122 is probably on page 111 or 112, its at least a good starting point.
Best thing is if the original poster would just link the permalink next to the post # when they go to find the post # in the first place. That way it's just a link instead of a post #.
ya ppl posting the links is very helpful, especially when u know they had to go back to look up that post to ref. it anyways.. also thanks for the helpful tip!

Also I wanted to make sure you knew next to the page numbers on the top right and bottom right of the thread, there is a down arrow. Click that, and you can skip directly to a page #.
