Hi Zoe,

If you can hold off on the next release of Mac Mini + Snow Leopard Server (which expectedly should have up to 8GB RAM), then it will be "worth the wait". I'm holding off to have one too, as my desktop (I don't currently have a desktop). Snow Leopard Server is a full 64-bit OS. You can pump in your Windows 7 (for NT7 only) or Windows XP using VMWare Fusion ($80) or Parallels ($60) and have peace. Current Mac Mini + Snow Leopard Server configuration is $999.

On the other hand, if you want to build a PC, then build an Ubuntu Linux + Virtual Box (all free stuff) machine, if you can.

Pass on Mac--I'm a PC guy and I don't want to build one. More interested in buying the best at lowest cost (who isn't?).

What did you pay for this machine?

About $1600 after shipping, tax, and CA recycle fee

I don't think you can hook 3 monitors up to a Mac Mini, he'd have to get an overpriced Mac Pro.

outstanding!

its not surprising that most people don't understand half of your reply or my questions to you. its a pleasure to see the other half...

I noticed the invoice and the $200 savings, and I would have gone for the 50% off the memory too, if I were offered it at checkout.

You've got me wondering which website to go to now, other than Clevo, Prostar and nVidia / Acer. now I am going to regress back to HP and see!

thanks,

hope to chat again soo

Whenever I buy a name-brand PC I always look around the net for coupons. Just Google "HP coupons" or "Dell coupons" and you'll find a bunch of sites that offer coupons for various PC box makers. That search saved me $200.

Did you purchase the HP laptop? If you did, have you ever had any problems with the screen not turning on? I have a HP laptop with Windows 7. At first everything was great. But lately every time I turn on the laptop the screen would be blank. I turned it in for service and was told it was a driver problem and that Windows did not recognize it. They reloaded the drivers and it worked, at least for the next few weeks. Now I am having the same problem again. Anyway I was told that certain drivers are not recognized by Windows 7.
