Does anyone know where I can get a list of all the companies in each industry from all sectors? Like S&P Financial has 5 industries, Commercial Banks, Insurance, Consumer Finance, Capital Markets and Diversified Financial Services. I would like a list of all the companies in each industry for all sectors.

Is the S&P Sectors and Industries the only service that breaks these companies down into Sectors and Industries or is there a better list?

Thanks

Wikipedia has the list https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_S%26P_500_companies

I follow several channels.
Stock Charts, for example, has sector ETF lists with holdings that updates once a day with performance of each component. When people complain that the performance of their holdings didn't match the performance of the etf, they replied that they categorize them according to how they come in on their data feed and they don't bother recategorizing them.
At Fidelity, I copy the holdings of each ETF and update a google sheet every month or so as my favorites change.
With unleveraged ETF's it's better to trade the top holdings than the etf.

For industry or thematic etf's, it is wise to subscribe to a charting vendor and get their lists.
Fidelity never had their own industry group listing, so I had to figure which industry was in favor by following etfs.
I moved on to IBD which has its own custom list of Industry groups.
Unfortunately, you can't track how individual industries are doing on an intraday basis even with a very expensive subscription to marketsmith. IBD live releases a large industry group spreadsheet each Monday that I download every week. It is worth the cheap subscription. I don't even watch the show.

Finally, TD Ameritrade has industry groups that you can run scans on to break down into the components. It is very painful, so I just use the lists from Stock Charts and IBD.
