Hello all,
I just registered here in the hope of getting some ideas on stock data sources collected:
I am looking for historical stocks data (pref. 5 min bars, past 5 years) for the major capital markets, e.g. U.S., UK, Germany etc.
Any idea where I could get such data more conveniently (esp. meaning: "cheaper") than at Reuters and Bloomberg?
Is there any free software available like tickstory for Forex data?
Many thanks for your help.
Best,
Daniel

There are many sources, googling will already help you a lot

You can also look at some of the quant platforms, they often provide long term data.

Thanks, this page is the best that I've found before.
Unfortunately, the available periods of max. 1 month are too short as I would need at least 2 years of 5-min history for each stock or the number of stocks is restricted.
Do you have any recommendation on quant platforms?

This is another link :
https://quantpedia.com/links-tools/?category=historical-data
You could look at sites like quantiacs.com and similar, they often offer long history (not tick data)
