I guess this isn't as well known a stock since most of their business seems to be in the background. Not too sure how to link charts to my posts but I'll at least post the link to it. Here's an article on Seeking Alpha about their expansion in China as well.

If anyone knows more about this stock, please add on as I'm trying to find as much details as I can about them.

@ZarethKnyght if you edit the summary you will find the code to add finviz charts to your post and summary when you make a new stock thread. Just an FYI and helpful feature.

Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of Finviz. I want to link it to stockcharts but not sure how that works.

IDK, it is a feature of the futures.io (formerly BMT) site.

What makes you say that? From what I've gathered, they're expanding their business worldwide at a decent rate and was close to profit last quarter. What makes it radioactive?

The problem I think is that this stock - [NYSE:ALU] is an ADR...you are not really investing in the real company.

If you are not familiar with ADR's hear is a discussion on Investopedia

ADR Basics: What Is An [AUTOLINK]ADR[/AUTOLINK]? | Investopedia

this is a quote from that article....but read this complete link

Quoting
ADRs were introduced as a result of the complexities involved in buying shares in foreign countries and the difficulties associated with trading at different prices and currency values. For this reason, U.S. banks simply purchase a bulk lot of shares from the company, bundle the shares into groups, and reissues them on either the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), American Stock Exchange (AMEX) or the Nasdaq. In return, the foreign company must provide detailed financial information to the sponsor bank. The depositary bank sets the ratio of U.S. ADRs per home-country share. This ratio can be anything less than or greater than 1. This is done because the banks wish to price an ADR high enough to show substantial value, yet low enough to make it affordable for individual investors. Most investors try to avoid investing in penny stocks, and many would shy away from a company trading for 50 Russian roubles per share, which equates to US$1.50 per share. As a result, the majority of ADRs range between $10 and $100 per share. If, in the home country, the shares were worth considerably less, then each ADR would represent several real shares.

Just on principle I like to invest in the real company...not a bunch of shares bought by a bank and put on the market.

to post a chart simply take a screen shot of what you want to show .... convert it to a JPEG or .PNG file and upload as an attachment.

You might be aware that I am a chartist if you read my journal. What I don't like about this chart is the lack of continuity in the day to day open/close. There are a lot of gaps...some are very small some are quite large. This makes it difficult to interpret the chart.... It almost seems random for me anyway.

If you look on a very long time frame you'll see the company was not too far for bankrupt. I know few guys working or who worked for this company and its future doesn't look very good, IMVHO.

Thanks for the info both of you. I have options contracts in them since it looks like they'll be generating a profit on their next ER. I guess I'll sell the contracts and sit back and relax instead.

Edit: Actually there seems to be a fair bit of movement in it lately. I know the original company trades on the Paris exchange from what I understand. Either way, I set it to sell my contracts at $0.60 per, which is around 17% profit.
