Elon is very bold. Can you imagine GM doing something like this? Actually rolling out a system to everyone who bought a car (which is auto updated) as of "right now" and letting people do this?
I've seen Elon address the liability issue, he places it squarely on the drivers responsibility. I hope this holds up in court, it's certainly the way of the future --- give it 10 years and it will become much more widespread, if it doesn't run into some serious liability challenges.
On this episode of Head 2 Head, presented by Tire Rack, host Jonny Lieberman puts the quickest sedan in the world up against the fastest sedan in the world. Unlike most "this versus that" competitions, the object of this match up is to figure out which family sedan is the bigger badass. In the red corner, making 691 electric horsepower and 687 pound-feet of torque, is the dual-electric motor, all-wheel drive Tesla Model S P85D. And in the blue corner, packing a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that’s good for 707 hp and 650 pound-feet of torque. As you can gather from the power figures, these two are evenly matched. But one’s a bigger badass than the other. Watch and find out which!
This may already have been posted somewhere in this thread, but I'm going to post it anyway. For those of you who don't yet "get" what Elon Musk is trying to achieve with Tesla and his other companies (Space-X being the main one), I highly recommend reading the series of blog posts by Tim Urban:
So I'm long Tesla stock as a conviction buy despite all the media noise (I can only imagine the amount of money spent by his competitors trying desperately to discredit the company...).
Most likely the stock will take another hit next week if earnings miss in the slightest, but hey I see that as a buying opportunity
