@Big Mike , would you consider posting the pattern or entry?...i would be interested as a swing trader to see that...multi baggers like that deserve a chart!

I don't want to make it seem like TSLA is a normal return for me. The stock obviously has exploded.

But the rule to enter and exit is quite normal for me.

Entered after volume spike in direction of support

Exited top of channel after weakening interest

I sold half of my remaining TSLA shares earlier this week. I bought Solar City, just in time for today's pop +24%

Go Elon

Elon Musk bought James Bond's submarine [AUTOLINK]car[/AUTOLINK] and wants to make it transform | The Verge

Quoting
Elon Musk doesn't get buyer's remorse, he just gets new plans. Musk confirmed to CNN Money that he has in fact purchased James Bond's transformable submarine car from The Spy Who Loved Me — unfortunately, while the car apparently still works as a submarine, it neither drives nor transforms. "I was disappointed to learn that it can't actually transform," Musk tells CNN Money in a statement.

But he doesn't plan to leave it as just a prop: "What I'm going to do is upgrade it with a Tesla electric powertrain and try to make it transform for real." Of course, Musk is no stranger to making high-tech toys and science fiction a reality, so making Bond's iconic Lotus Esprit actually transform should be well within his abilities.

What do you guys think about the stock? I have to admit that I am a fan of the company, and Elon Musk his work. However, I don't like the stock. I have been short the stock with an options structure since a little before the 'fire incident' and things are going fairly well.

Imho the valuation is at nosebleed levels, institutional ownership is dropping, however momentum behind the name maintains.

In summary potential catalysts are/ were:
  • $660 million convertible bonds issued in May become freely convertible (at $124) into common shares on October 1st could provide some additional selling pressure.
  • Corporate earnings on Nov 4th.
  • Institutional Ownership declining for 84% to 66% and dropping.

BofAML notes:

Institutional ownership of Tesla stock has faded throughout 2013, from approximately 84% of shares held in January to about 66% today As a result, it now appears that retail investors are playing an increasing role in driving the stock price higher and could be at risk when a correction, which we believe is long overdue, ultimately occurs.

I believe we'll continue to see correction. I don't think the question is whether or not there is a continued correction, but instead when/where is a good area to step in back to long side. I haven't studied the stock recently so am not going to comment on that.
