Stock scanner on their server with my custom scripts
Does anyone know any stock screener provider where actual screening is happening on their servers.
I need to run my own scripts there. Not complex.
I tried ThinkOrSwim but "complexity" of my scripts was too much for them.
Did anyone try StockFetcher ? Can I write there MY indicators and use them later ? Multicharts and NinjaTrader want those stocks data to be loaded to my PC.
ThinkOrSwim idea was good but they are limiting me.
So what I want is:
Write my own indicator/script
Run it on their servers
Get resulting stocks.
Alerts on my indicators on those stocks is a bonus.
Any other solutions on the net ?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
For months I've been wanting to get back to swinging stocks on the side. So now I am getting serious about it again, and have funded an MB Trading equities account just for this purpose. Still sticking with futures as my primary goal, but swinging …

It was a very decent discussion on scanners.
Unfortunately, I did not find answer to my question there.
It looks like scanner with custom indicators working on provider's servers does not exist just yet.
I think ThinkOrSwim is closest to the goal but limitations are a deal breaker.

I've read about Worden StockFinder 5. Frankly, I am blown away.
I think that is the best thing that I have ever found.
I am now just trying it but already could see a great potential.
They did smart thing. They download data to your PC ( as others do ) but they download ALL! instruments with minute bars and endofday. As a result all charts work momentarily, you can slice and dice all these data in any way you want. Brilliant! It is actually much better solution for me then running scripts on a provider's server.
Plus, they use not just some "home-made" script language. They use normal VB.NET ! for scripts.
Tried StockFinder 5. Well, I am taking my words back.
I was trying to develop simple things. I was diligent and read how to do that and watched videos.
When I started doing some stuff - believe me very basic, it started crashing on me.
Firstly, I was able to recover. After that being smart, I made a backups. Tried to approach to the problem again.
It crashed on me and now crashing every time I open it.
Even if I did something terribly wrong, the respectable program can't do such things to users.
I finally gave up to restore. May be some kind re-install or repair might help, but what if it happens later when I need to use it.
So sorry, I guess calling them on Monday and getting my money back.
Program has a potential in the future but I find it a bit dilettantish.
Besides price of $90 per month is a bit too much for this quality.
P.S. I eventually, have solved my tasks in NinjaTrader. ( free + free daily data )
