At futures io, our focus is on quality education. No hype, gimmicks, or secret sauce. The truth is: trading is hard. • We are here to help. Just let us know what you need.
  • We work extremely hard to keep things positive in our community.
  • We do not tolerate rude behavior, trolling, or vendors advertising in posts.
  • We firmly believe in and encourage sharing. The holy grail is within you, we can help you find it.
  • We expect our members to participate and become a part of the community. Help yourself by helping others.

You'll need to register in order to view the content of the threads and start contributing to our community.  It's free and simple.

Quoting
Internet pioneer Mark Cuban has already cashed out of Facebook, selling all of his 150,000 of his shares, he told CNBC Monday on “Squawk on the Street.”

"I already sold it, I took my hit, my thesis was wrong. I thought we would get a quick bounce just about the excitement about the stock. I was wrong, and when you are wrong you don't wait, you just get out. So I took a beating and left," Cuban said.

Facebook stock [FB 31.73 1.716 (+5.72%) ] was a trade and not an investment because there was an over issuance of shares, Cuban said.

The social networking giant issued 421 million shares, a move that Cuban said hurt the company's stock price.

"I mean if you look at other companies like LinkedIn [LNKD 106.14 4.13 (+4.05%) ], they issued 8.4 million shares and the stock skyrocketed. If Facebook would have come out with 8.4 million shares, instead of 421 million, the stock would be at about $200 right now. So it was just the circumstances that led to me getting in and out," Cuban said.

Although Facebook has only traded as a public company for one month, it has had its fair share of issues. Along with a botched IPO and shareholder lawsuits, the company has also faced increased criticism of how it plans to monetize its mobile platform.

Cuban, who co-founded and sold start ups like Broadcast.com and MicroSolutions, acknowledged that the mobile space is huge, but it's an issue every Internet company will have to deal with.

"It's not just Facebook, like some people are trying to make it sound, it's Google [GOOG 569.55 5.04 (+0.89%) ], how do they get out ads? It's Zynga [ZNGA 5.852 0.292 (+5.25%) ], it's everybody dealing with the same issues," Cuban said. "I think you will see an increase of monetization on the mobile level. But if Facebook can't do it, everybody else has the same risk and the same problem."

I'm thinking it will be negative news, but I hate Facebook so what do I know.

Mike

And I thought I was the only one not understanding why all the hype surrounding Facebook and all these "social networks".
I just can't understand how can a person spend hours and hours in the day in front of a screen talking with people they don't know, share private stuff with them...

Crazy times...

If I become half a percent smarter each year, I'll be a genius by the time I die

While I do agree with what you said "arnie" from Portugal ... thanks for sharing your opinion on the subject and other details with us....I see you also value patience and you have discretionary income which you chose to invest in the ES... over @ your broker IB....
