Hi @kiwi, I had been a SC user for past 7 years and using IB & AMP and mostly only trade Asian markets.

Teton and Denali data doesn't support Asian markets, and SC have said many times that they will not support Asian markets definitely.

So my suggestion is RUN, go to searching other platforms, otherwise you are gonna pay 56 dollars a month(Service package 12) eventually.

By the way, who is Anthony? why this is relevant to him?

If you're a Sierra user, perhaps using IB or AMP like me, then you might be up for a 38% price rise next month (I just use package 3 as I'm a simple PA trader).

https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?ThreadID=72331

If that isn't something you want, maybe you should let Anthony know.

While it is 38%, it's also just ten bucks. (Old price, $26, new price $36.)

How I feel about it is that I don't care. There are a lot of things I care about, but this $10 is not one of them.

Bob.

Hello Bob, I think OP is not really care that 10 bucks, what he cares does he need to pay more for something worthless for him.

Probably so, and what people regard as important is up to them, so I really can't object if it is different from what is important to me.

I did want to point out the actual amount involved, but everyone can (and of course, will) make their own decisions, as they should.

I like SC well enough to not care much about their price, at least at this point. But that's just me, after all.

If the $10, or however much it is, price increase bothers you, please: go use something else. Seriously. It's the purest form of capitalism... don't use a product that that doesn't deliver the value you expect to get in return for its cost. If enough people do it, and the vendor is affected, they will make a change. Vote with your money.

I agree with what SC support said in that last screenshot: "Sierra Chart is not your problem." If you still think it is your problem, I beg you, use something else. Most people will talk big, kicking and screaming, but not do anything. Be different. Use something else. Start a trend.

Or, keep talking only, not doing anything, and demonstrate that you'd rather just complain about something than actually do anything.

The choice is yours!

(For what it's worth, I'm actually considering using TT for a couple of reasons, none of which has anything to do with an increase in fees--I'll pay more with TT, but there is a particular feature SC won't implement that I need, so I'm considering altering some things too... lest anyone thinks I'm just a long-time SC shill )

Hi all,

This thread has somewhat blown up in size as comments, pro and con, are expressed on the price increase, and another thread was created yesterday on essentially the same topic, so there is an interest in the subject.

All this discussion is a good thing, and it lets people find out how others view what is happening, and gives them a chance to decide what they think of it, as well as pitch in with their views if they wish.

But I'm making two quick changes, hopefully to make the discussion more clear:

1. I'm changing the title of this thread from "Sierra chart -- Worst! and even very worst!" -- which just gives voice to the OP's expression of frustration, but doesn't say why -- to "Sierra Chart Price Increase", which is the actual subject of the original post and the main subject of the posts that have come after.

2. I am copying in the posts from the duplicate thread, so these posts will all appear together under one topic, avoiding yet another duplication that makes it harder for members to keep up with things. The other thread will still exist, but will be closed, with a link into this one.

When the other posts are merged in here, they will appear in the date/time order when they were first made, so the sequence here may look a little odd (for example, they will appear here before this post, since they were posted before this one.) There also may be some near-duplicate posts, as some members (I am one ) have posted in both threads, sometimes at about the same time.

I hope all this will shake out properly and that putting these threads together will make things better overall.

Thanks.

Bob.

Whew, OK, I think all this worked. I'm never really sure that anything will, if it is at all unusual.

Now we should have these posts all in one place. Feel free to add, if you have any other thoughts on the subject. (And see the post just before this one, if you don't understand what is going on.)

Its normal human behavior. People love free stuff, cheap stuff. The like to split a penny.
And if there is price increase they go crazy.

Its seems we have similar people among traders too.

Black Friday shopping... what an insane thing. I've never done it. It's kind of like "amazon prime day" or whatever they're calling it now. Take the junk that nobody bought last year, discount it to clear inventory for the next over-priced piece of depreciating junk, and watch them lap it up. One thing the last two years have demonstrated about humanity is that a very large percentage of the population, across all factors (nation, race, education, economic, etc.) seem incapable of original, critical thought, and would follow the herd right over the cliff if that's where they were headed.

The above is a commentary on Black Friday shopping, NOT on anyone who argues a SC price increase here. If you are arguing about the SC price increase, you have every right as a consumer to do so, and let me repeat, I was NOT talking about you above.

But there is quite lot penny splitters. What broker gives smallest commissions, I willing to move - what country has lowest taxes and so on...

From https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?ThreadID=72282:

Quoting
For the following items, this goes into effect for usage time renewals made after April 15, 2022 and for new accounts effective April 15, 2022:

Service package 10, or 11, or 12 will be required to use the following external services:

-Interactive Brokers
-CQG
-Rithmic
-LMAX
-IQ Feed

Also:

Quoting
Standard Sierra Chart (Service Package 3)
Price: 26 USD/month

Sierra Chart with Advanced Features (Service Package 5)
Price: 36 USD/month

Standard Sierra Chart plus Denali Exchange Data Feed (Service Package 10)
Price: 36 USD/month

Wait, so, if I'm already on SP5, then I pay no more money? Is this complaining seriously only from people on SP3 who now have to go to SP10, and pay an additional $10 per month?
