Hi Tom,

I know you are a long term user of Sierra Chart.
I contacted Stage 5 and I am planning to open an account with Advantage FCM shortly
Can you tell me how things are working with Teton order routing?

What happens if you have a power outage or the internet connection goes down?
Until now I used CQG and CQG android app to manage these situations

Is is true that bracket orders like trailing stops are server side?

Thanks

Ps.: I don't understand the reason why they have on home page things about 2019
No update, no restyling, why? This is not good for the first impact with this company
I suggest them to update the website, that is your business card

Hello Markus,

I'm not Tom, but as a recent user of Teton with Stage 5 (~2 months) I don't mind sharing my experience. I had the same doubts you have now.

The transition process was easy and went well. My FCM is Dorman.

I had all the support I needed from Stage 5 up to now.

As a backup, the only solution offered is Sierra "Web Trade Account Data and Order Entry" but you can only access it after you have the Teton service active. It's simply a basic web access where you can place orders (Buy / Sell), Open and Close positions, see your current Open Orders, Current Positions, Account Balance, etc.

There is also a 24 hour phone number in case you have an emergency. They will do whatever you need, but you will have a cost.

There is no App you can use over your cell phone.

I have a UPS as a power backup and two internet connections.

The execution speed is good and data is from Denali.

In short, the word here is "simple". Everything is simple and effective.

I hope this helps.

My answers would be the same as @Rui S
Thanks, Rui S.

With Teton Order Routing, bracket orders are server side, but managed with Sierra Chart client side.
So if you lose your internet connection, they are no longer managed.

With Teton, you can see your real-time acct balance, margin requirements, etc, at
Trade >> Trade Account Monitor/Balances Window

First off, when I place a buy/sell, I have my platform configured to place a stop and a target when I enter a trade. Is that what bracket orders are?

Secondly, what do you mean by " no longer managed"? Does that mean neither the stop nor the target orders will not execute?

Thanks

Yes. The term usually applies to an OCO pair of a target and a stoploss.
(Not to be confused with a bracketed entry.)

The stop and target remain, but a trailing stop, or a MBE stop, will no longer move.

Hello Markus, thank you for posting this information.

It is indeed very concerning. As a foreigner customer, I don't know what I should do.

I think the customers money is protected under the wing of the FCM, in my case Dorman Trading.

@tomgilb, I'm sorry to bother you, but could you please advise what I should do?

Your funds are protected for sure, but if they lose their status of NFA member the withdraw of your money could be delayed

So first of all, the better thing you can do is ask them to clarify what is their position about this complaint and if they do not reply then wire out your money and close the account

Hello Markus.

Just a quick update: I have been in contact with Anthony Giacomin from Stage 5 and he is taking care of this issue.

I don't want to disclose here much more of what he explained to me, but he assures that Stage 5 is in good shape and doing well and the issue will be sorted out soon.

In any case, Anthony himself is preparing to give some sort of a "public" explanation to customers and prospect customers, in order to reassure everyone.

So, don't give up on Stage 5 just yet, if you can.

Hopefully everything will be sorted out soon.

That's good

I hope everything will be clarified soon

I took that info from Elite trader board, so I would expect some explanation there, but also here and on Sierra Chart support forum

Thanks for your post
