I would use 09:30-16:14:59. Thatís the RTH session. If your looking to follow U.S. Stocks then the RTH session is the way to go. Futures can only get ahead of cash when cash is closed. Once cash reopens then everything changes and the cash mkt will take the lead. Thatís just my personal opinion, hope that helps.

regarding E-mini ES/NQSo, to be clear. I should not include the data between 16:15:01-09:29:59?
I was maybe thinking of running 2 charts , 1 for day session and 1 for the full 23 hr. session Any experience with that? again I am using Sierra Chart

It really comes down to what your looking to analyze/accomplish. Obviously, your analysis will vary due to the 2 different timeframes. Running concurrent charts for day and globex session is good idea (without knowing your strategy or what you are looking to see, it's hard to give a right/wrong answer). Just remember with globex you will see a lot of information. Keep in mind that what happens overnight doesn't always translate to the RTH session and could cause confusion. But again without knowing what your looking to accomplish it's hard to say what will work vs. what won't.

I look for A/B divergences and imbalances at VAL/VAH and/or at the Hi/Lo of day. PM if you want, I notice you from NYC area also and am looking to chat/meet with some traders in local area I can bounce ideas with. Thanks again for replying

I personally like to use 5 Am CDT until 4 PM CDT.

I look at volume, when some big moves happen and use that as the guideline for what i consider main session, even though the actual underlying, the stock market is only open between 830 Am and 3 PM CDT
