Hi all, I just started using Sierra charts a few weeks ago so I am getting accustomed to the platform. However, I have noticed a huge delay in my datafeed. I see anywhere from 4 seconds to 40 seconds delays. It is completely random. I pulled up NinjaTrader and I don't see a delay on that so I'm confused.
I believe that your providers will be able to diagnose that for you. Since you are using CQG and AMP, you are "paying" for performance and should get answers.
When I had issues with @NinjaTrader and Kinetick, their support people went to great lengths to clear things up.
Unsolicited advice: Do not even try to trade futures with unreliable data. Demand specific and reliable data or change forms.
I did contact AMP and they sent me over to the Sierra support board and Sierra sent me some docs to read and try to diagnose the issue myself.
But as I began to read the docs I just may have been misinterpreting what the countdown timer was telling me as it was my only clue that there may be an issue.
I thought the timer would show me a countdown of "Time" only, however I'm thinking that it is showing a countdown of "Last Traded" and in that case I can understand why I'm seeing such a huge delay. I guess I've just been used to seeing a continuous countdown of time on my charting packages so this issue perplexes me.
I"m just not sure that's the answer so I'm waiting on Sierra to get back with me.
And you're absolutely correct, at this point I won't touch a trade until I fully understand what's going on
The minute someone that I pay or that makes money from our relationship fails to treat my issue like it is their problem, they can kiss my ass.
Right now I use ToS, TD is okay. Meaning they don't piss me off. BUT, they do not kick ass. In 25 plus years nobody that was not my employee or firm employee went out of their way to deliver for me more than @NinjaTrader and Kinetick. I have two accounts that anchor me where I am. But for that, I'd be hard pressed to imagine a better set up than IB as broker, NT for analytics, and Kinetick for data.
HAHA!!! I hear you on that one! Overall AMP has been very helpful but this one time I was sent over to Sierra for help. I'm pretty new to futures but I've traded forex for about 4 years, however this is slightly different so I'm learning my way around.
But if I find that they are not helping me then yea, I'll tell them to kiss both Wldman's and my ass and move elsewhere!
if you trade only US markets you could try the denali datafeed intead of CQG
you don't have to pay twice , you can disable the CQG data feed in AMP and activate denali in sierra
