Hello, im brand spanking new to sierra charts (demo) and I have a question I cannot figure out.

1. I have the "P/L" open but cannot get prices to show up. During open positions, they are simply blank and not sure why. I set my columns to currency value but no profit/loss numbers appear.

Where are you currently checking your P/L?

If you haven’t already, you can monitor your P/L as well as other various account summary statistics under the Trade Activity log.

This can be opened by navigating to Trade > Trade Activity Log. Please make sure you have your log set to All Symbols [Non Sim], if you are currently using this window, this may be why your P/L is not reporting. This can be set by clicking the third drop down menu to the right starting from the top left hand corner of the Trade Activity Log.

If your P/L is still not accurately reporting after this, we would suggest to contact Sierra Chart support directly. They will require the log file of your trade activity log which can be found by navigating to Window > Message Log > Copy Log. You will then need to get in touch with Sierra support through their own support board or by creating an account ticket.

Thanks,
Matt Z

At the moment, I am not enjoying Seirra Charts DOM at all.

Is there another platform more similar to TOS's Dom?

Try Trading Technologies. Their Web based DOM maybe similar to what you need.
However, I think that Sierra is just a matter of time until you get used it it as well.

With Sierra, here are things I am trying to work on.

1. The DOM screen/prices are centered to the screen. I like that but to a degree. I would prefer it that the price DOM is static until it begins to get to the top of my comp monitor screen or to the lower of the screen and then re center the price to the middle.

2. Break even button. Great feature but can't get it to work.

I essentially go in naked and when a specific profit is achieved, I enact a static stop loss. This button seems to be a "one click" version of it? I set the BE parameters to +4 ticks upon activation but can't get it to work.

3. If you have an open position, can you "drag" a take profit or stop loss from the DOM directly?

I assumed Seirra allowed this but can't get it to work but not sure if it's even a feature.

4. I have set my DOM column to show P&L and even though the settings is set to currency....it still showing up as "points." Everything on the trade panel is showing as currency but can't get the DOM to show currency.

5. "Chase" feature ...cannot exactly figure out what it does even after reading the explanation.

6. When manually setting a stop loss on an already open postion, can it be done directly in the DOM itself instead of using the trade panel?

Here is a Chartbook with DOM, that might help you get started.

Breakeven only works when you have attached Orders
There should be no reason why you cannot slide orders up and down the
DOM
A DOM is considered a CHART so right click on it and go to Chart Settings 2nd Tab and setup your needs

you have to play with the scale settings, you can start with something like keep the last bar within view and 10 in the ticks from edge field

Hi

Trying to figure out how to colour code the Bid and Ask orders on the Large Volume Indicator on Sierra Charts
Can anyone help?

Is it safe to assume that a large order on the bid is hitting the bid therefore a sell order or is it limit buy order. Basically is it Red or Green.

Sorry may seem like a basic question but not sure why Sierra have the defaults the same colour which I have asked them and waiting for a respponse.
