I have noticed some time the charting is lagged behind with the DOM data feed when it is volatile. I used Infinity Futures as my broker. I trade the Emini. Any suggestions why it happened

What software are you using would be helpful? How many charts and indicators do you have open?
That being said I often get similar but it's only through really high volume and volatile trading.
From my experience if your charting software is struggling to keep up with the DOM price changes, it's most likely you have too many charts open or too many indicators slowing your charting software down.
Try running your software with only 1-2 charts with minimal indicators and see if the same occurs.
If it does dig deeper.

I agree, we need to know what charting software you are using.... because that does not sound like a problem with Sierra. Sounds more like a problem with Ninja 8.

do you have set the same chart update interval in milliseconds?

to check if your chartbook is not too heavy, it must be opened and ready in less than 30-40 seconds

no quarter

Indeed I have a problem with ninja 8 and chart lagging. Any suggestion for a good scalper platform?

I have been trying to make Ninja 8 work. The bottom line is that having multiple charts with multiple indicators will definitely reduce performance. Another think I noticed is that certain 3rd party indicators seem not to be coded correctly and will drag down Ninja. Also, high volatility on very thin products cause Ninja to slow down. Best thing to do is to reduce the number of charts and indicators when trading. Sierra is good, no doubt, but if you have a lifetime Ninja License, then it does not make a lot of sense to pay Sierra every month for its use.

Hope that helps.

@jal240, I can't tell from your post what your platform is (although you did post in the Sierra Chart subforum.) As the subsequent posts by others make clear, this is an important question.

Some of the other posters mention possible or actual issues with NinjaTrader, and others aren't sure, but mention that the problem does not sound like a Sierra Chart type of issue.

So it would useful if you can clear up the platform you had the issues with. This in fact may be the most important question.

Probably all platforms are being stressed with this volatility. So it is important to know how it is affecting each of them, if we can. Also, you're much more likely to get a response that you can personally use if you clear this question up.

I hope you will supply this information.

Bob.

Hi Tangotx,

yesterday I found on a ninjatrader forum an indicator which measures the lag of the chart.
I am enthousiastic about it. Perhaps it is also usefull for you.

Description:

It will display three things in the upper right corner of the chart:

• The core time of NT8 (computer)
• The chart time of NT8 (data)
• The difference of the two times (if the Chart time is behind the core time, it will be a negative number).

Hello.

Work in the last ninjatrader8 version (8.0.22.1)?

I can't make it work.

Thanks.
