Has anyone developed a trendline auto trader for Sierra charts?
If so, could you provide a link or info to it.
Thanks

33 views, zero ideas..
That`s not promising.

Maybe no one has ever done an auto trader study using hand drawn trendlines before, because it seems that Sierra does not have an authentic trendline tool.

Just a basic line tool that can be uneven and wavy depending on how its drawn on the chart.
Not a good look for a trading platform.

Sierra has an auto trendline tool as a standard study, but you might have seen this already - heres a quick video with more info

Haven't come across a Trendline Autotrader myself, but Sierra is more than capable.

Would anyone have a snippet of code to draw a line(trendline) between two data points or above the price of sc.High[-5] by 1 point to the end of the right side of the chart?

Thanks

SC have am in built study called Automatic Trendlines ( Technical Studies Reference - Sierra Chart) cannot you not use code from that study? (SC publish the code for all their studies).

Yes, I have looked at the Automatic Trendlines study before posting.

237 views and no workable solution.
I'm guessing no one on this entire site has the ability to code an ASCIL trendline that a user can move around and adjust on the chart.
The lines of the Automatic Trendlines study is useless and the user can not move the lines.

Finally succeeded in getting a ASCIL trend line drawn on a chart.
Unlike the Automatic Trendlines study, this trend line can actually be selected, move around and adjusted.

Now the next task is to figure out how to determined when price has crossed over or crossed under the line.

Why don't you try something based on the auto linear regression channel study? I use that with flex renkos an range days and it works nicely.

Could you explain what you mean?

I am currently able to draw the trend lines on the chart with ASCIL and manually move them around once drawn.
I`m currently stuck on determining when price has crossed over or crossed under the line.

I been posting on the Sierra site trying to get the Seirra charts guys to post an example or even expose the trend line object so it can be detected and used via ASCIL code.

They are not even able to provide a simple sample code example and don't even seem to care that their platform is so way behind the abilities of Tradestation and NinjaTrader.

An even sadder thing is their trendline when drawn on a chart by hand, its values don't even show in a spreadsheet trading study.
So you cant even use a spreadsheet with a trendline.
