as a note, this is for an ETH chart as the RTH lines end with the RTH session. i looked into the "High/Low for Time Period - Extended" but then you lose the extensions.. hmm
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see
You could try plotting the IB on a RTH Intraday chart (ie 9.30 to 4.00pm for ES) and then use the Overlay/Price Study to put it on your ETH chart. In the settings for that overlay, fiddle around with the 'Fill Blanks with Last Value' [probably needs to be No] and 'Draw Zeros' [probably needs to be No] and maybe some of the other settings.
I am not sure what I am meant to be looking at. Is it not plotting right? Bit hard to make out with most of the time scale covered up.
Your RTH chart needs to be time based and be divisible by the IB period you are trying to plot ie you cannot have a 30min chart and try and plot a 5 min IB. But you can have a 5min chart to plot a 30 min IB.
If you are then overlaying the IB study to a ETH chart that is NON time based, then the start and stop times on the ETH will not be accurate eg say your IB starts at 9.30am and ends at 9.45am. If you are overlaying this to a ETH chart that is Volume based and the Volume bars start at the following times (as an example): 9.21am, 9.33am, 9.44am and 9.59am, then the IB overlay will plot from the volume bar starting at 9.21am (as that bar covers the 9.30 start) right through to the 9.59am bar (as that bar covers the end period of 9.45). There is NOTHING you can do about this.
Other than that, try playing around with some of the other settings in the Overlay study.
i was taking the overlay from an RTH volume chart that has the IB plotted correctly. basically user contributed IB study works correctly but you cant plot the mid with it and have to use the study twice if you want more extnsions because it only has 3 extensions.
when using the initial balance levels user contributed study, why does it scrunch up the chart while the SC IB study doesnt? made a video showing the action:
You might want to check the scale of the study. I'm at work and can't check the name of the setting, but I have seen study's mess with Region 1 if the scale was different.
