How to create a chart - YTD/MTD percentage change

Can someone walk me through how you would create a chart of lets say XLF that displays the Year to Date or if I wanted to switch to Month to Date performance of the symbol. I add the study percentage change since close but i know thats not giving me the right data. Thanks -EDIT Solved
