I keep getting a symbol error "unknown, unavailable or improperly formatted" with SPX.XO and VIX.XO thru IQFeed on Sierra Chart.
This worked fine in March when I last used Sierra Chart. Now that I've finally got my new office setup, I load it up again and am getting this error. The symbol names are valid from IQFeed, so it seems to be a Sierra Chart problem.
Anyone have any idea?
Symbol Error - VIX.XO is unknown, unavailable, or improperly formatted.
Symbol Error - SPX.XO is unknown, unavailable, or improperly formatted.
However, that should not yield an error like the one you got. Can you post a screen shot of the symbol settings, as well as the error? Also, rename or delete the vix.xo.scid file and try it again.
At this point, it could be any of the other tickers referenced on the chart even though that's not what the log suggests. I'll try a new blank chart later and try to troubleshoot.
