I am new to Sierra charts and am trying to figure out the data feed from TD ameritrade. My trial ran out I'm I purchased the monthly package. When I open it up I keep getting error messages. I'm trying to pull up futures data. I'm not trying to trade from Sierra, I'm just using the charts and tools they have and enter the trades through my TD account. The charts will pull up weekly/daily charts but nothing lower? Has anyone else experienced this problem? And if so how do I solve it? Thanks in advance
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
They really should put that on the page. I like SC and the tools they offer. I went ahead and paid for the CME data feed to get futures data. I wouldn't think that I would even need a TOS account with that? I figured once I paid the CME for the month and the chart package, TD wouldn't matter? They informed that it does.
Whats the best option to use SC charts and tools(pay the monthly Package) and get a good data feed (paying for the data feed as well) ? I'm not trying to trade through SC, I can write my orders down and enter them into my tradestation and TOS accounts.
To avoid exchange fees when using SC's CME feed, you need a funded account that can connect to SC . It wouldn't have to be TDA, and you don't have to trade thru it. That's my understanding.
open an account at AMP for 500 bucks and get sierra chart and data for free. They have a version of Sierra that charges per transaction, instead of a monthly fee. But it does not have the TPO indicator or the
"draw volume profile " tool. But it does have a regular volume profile which is highly configurable.
TD futures data wont work with Ninja either, it is not an issue only with Sierra.
TD does not want you to port their data for futures elsewhere.
I only use TD as a clearinghouse. They have obstacles at every step as far as futures go.
