I'm currently a 4year IRT user who just downloaded Sierra. The reason for trying Sierra is that I've heard that it's fast and they have the number bars.

I use mainly volume profile and delta for my trading and some market profile. I've got DTNIQ for a data feed.

I see there are A LOT of vids and post both here and on youtube on how to use and setup Sierra. What videos/post would you recommend I watch/read for the fastest learning curve? I'm trying to cut down on learning time and really don't want to watch a bunch of hour long videos and not get everything I need to set it up.

I want to set up a intraday RTH 3000 volume chart with a volume profile for everyday, a 30min globex chart with a volume profile for everyday and a composite daily chart and a intraday numbers bar chart.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I'm too getting more familiar with Sierra Chart, and I think you'll find the numbers bars and Volume Profile options are very flexible and intuitive once you get up to speed. You're in luck, as I actually created some videos recently that cover both Volume Profile and Numbers bars on Sierra:

Volume Profile: Sierra Chart - Using [AUTOLINK]Volume Profile[/AUTOLINK] - YouTube
Numbers Bars: Sierra Chart - Working With Numbers Bars - YouTube

With the Volume Profile you'll be able to easily set up a recurring Volume Profile for every day.

The Numbers Bars also is very useful in that you can view some additional data in the columns while also displaying the Volume Profile filled in. However, with the Numbers Bars option you won't have the regular Candle-Sticks to reference on that particular chart as the Numbers Bars will replace them, unlike the Volume Profile where you would be able to view Volume Profile in addition to the candle-sticks(or whatever bar style you may prefer).

I uploaded a chart that will hopefully get you started. I did combine the first and fourth charts mentioned into a single chart, but you get the idea. You'll have to change the symbol, times, etc. to your specific situation. Load up the charts and start tinkering with the settings. If you break the charts, just download it and try it again

As for learning, the two videos posted by @OptimusJohn probably have plenty of useful info. I'd also suggest checking out the SC documentation on those two topics; they are constantly updating their docs in an effort to keep them current and useful.

if someone need info about how to set up Vprofile in SC, I work with 30 min. VP chart, a normal daily chart and my execution chart which is a 5 ticks Range Bars with a VP for every chart as a sort of foot print and Delta divergence. All of this with the free version of SC

Ciao Max, come stai

I'm also from Italy. Look for me in google or fb if you want but anyway keep contact in this extraordinary forum to help many more people. Before we setup the Volume by price study on SC, we need to go to Global Settings menu>Data trade service settings and change the data feed from seconsds to ticks. This is more accurate when working with bars numbers and bid/ask volume. Then is also important to reduce the loading days for data to a max. of 7 in order to keep light the loading time for data.

Select the Volume by price study from study window and range in ticks bars from Chart settings. Make changes you need. For example, if using (as I do) a 5 ticks Range bars chart, you will want to set your VP study to 5 ticks as well and not by time. You will notice that every bar has its own VPOC and bid x ask data (or total volume, ask-bid, etc) for each tick of the bar.

To see only the footprint without bars or candles, you just go to Chart settings and change type of chart to blank mode.

I hope it help you Max.
