It looks like finally someone took the initiative and started creating comprehensive instructional videos for Sierra chart. Optimus Futures Created and uploaded those Videos to their YouTube Channel:
I just wanted to throw it out there, for any futures.io (formerly BMT) members, if there are any topics you are interested in, please let us know and we'll be happy to put something together.

I have recently started working with Sierra Charts and like them but I cannot figure out how to find a description of user submitted studies or how to download them or how to download a study like Ichimoku.
I have read thru Sierra's site but it did not help. Does anyone have other instructions or is there an Optimus video? Or could there be an Optimus video??
Thanks Squeeze

Here is the link to the Instrctional Videos that Optimus created: Sierra Chart - YouTube
Also, when you download a custom study check if it ends with .cpp or .dll
If it is a .dll file then just throw it to the data folder.
If it is a .cpp file then you will have to save it to the ACS_SOURCE folder and you will have to build it:
Analysis >> Build Custom Studies DLL and then select the file and click Build Custom Study DLL.
In order to load a custom study to your chart click on the chart in order to select it and then press the F6 key. this will bring the studies window. Now click the Add Custom Study button and choose and add the study.

When I wrote "Throw it to the data folder" I meant that you have to save it in the data folder.
I am not sure that I understand what you are trying to do. Is there a specific custom study that you are trying to add?
If "scsf_SenkouSpanC" is the name of the study and it ends with .CPP then follow the previous instructions regarding .cpp files.
BUT usually the scsf_...... is the name of the study function as it appears within the code and the name of the study doesn't often have the "scsf" so I am a bit confused as to what you are trying to do.
Please help me understand :-)

There is just no way to find out what you want in SC on day one. It is like entering Disney park for the first time, should I go left, right or follow that shiny balloon. But once you figure out what are cpp, dll, how to compile, indicator properties then SC is rather easy and enjoyable.
It looks like you've gotten up and running now with Yonatan's help, but we'll also be glad to make some videos on the subject for others who may have the same questions.
Thanks for the suggestion!

I did make a video for adding in a custom study collection, chartbook, or spreadsheet for Sierra Chart for anyone who might have come across this thread looking for some video guidance:
The elements that make up the Ichimoku study are also listed in the available studies collection of Sierra. (Right click on chart background, then left click Studies, scroll down alphabetically)
They are listed individually:
Our YouTube channel is full of videos for each of the platforms we carry and support.
Just go to YouTube and put "OptimusFutures" in the search box.
We gather the ideas according to the main features of each platform and the questions asked by our customers.

I think that if you go to Window>> Tile vertically, it will solve the first problem. Then you can resize your charts as you wish. If you want to drag one chart to another screen then go to Chart >> Detach/Attach chart window.
As to the lines on the TPO chart, just play with the subgraphs setting of the TPO study and you will find out what are those lines that you see.
Great Thread! Thanks. Glad to know about all those videos.
I downloaded Sierra Charts, but didn't make an account because I thought the free trial was 30 days, but it's 15 days. Well, since it would take me 15 days to learn the program (senior here and slow witted I guess), I didn't follow through. I think the videos will help the learning curve be much smaller.
Thanks again!

The Rithmic trial is 30 days but Sierra provides only 2 weeks, but you can always ask them to extend it if you wish.
The videos cover many of the features you will need to use.
Realistically, you will learn lot more when you actually use the platform beyond the demo, and that applies to any software.
