The process in Post #48 does not produce the desired outcome. Please do not use it.
The Average Volume (SG4) in the Relative Volume study produces the value you want.

So do this instead:

To overlay this onto a Volume study:
In the Relative Volume study:
-set the Chart Region to the same as the Volume study.
-set the Draw Style of SG4 to Bar
-set all other Draw Styles to Ignore.

Hi Tomgilb,

My relative volume study does not have an average volume section.
And therefore no SG4. What version of SC are you working with? I've got 1307

Thanks again.

I'm using v1400.
[You are using one of the final versions that support Old Spreadsheets. If you are using them and you upgrade beyond 1310, your spreadsheets studies will try to convert, but conversions sometimes require tweaks or reworks, and some former features are not supported.]

Sierra engineers recently added a native Relative Volume study.
Here's their documentation:

Hi guys thanks for the great work!

Does SC offer Volume Delta and possible to separate big and small lots? I thought it is useful.

See:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=292

You can add alerts (bells, whistles, visual signals) that signal any level of "big" or "small" that you want.

I don't think there's a single number that's different in SC since all OF platforms rely on the same CME MDP 3.0 data.
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/NumbersBars.php#s300

So the only question is if one wants to use pre-aggregated numbers (often with black-box methods) or build her/his
own aggregations out of the basic numbers.

P.S.: Reading the open CME MDP 3.0 specs you can avoid much of the order flow products mumbo-jumbo.
