Sierra Chart sessions issue

I am going a bit crazy with sessions.

Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

Doesn't the "E" on the bottom right signify Evening session? It is currently 10:30am Eastern and my session template clearly marks this as regular session, not overnight.

Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

What am I missing?

Mike

1) Stop changing things. No new indicators, charts, or methods. Be consistent with what is in front of you first.
2) Start a journal and post to it daily with the trades you made to show your strengths and weaknesses.
3) Set goals for yourself to reach daily. Make them about how you trade, not how much money you make.
4) Accept responsibility for your actions. Stop looking elsewhere to explain away poor performance.
5) Where to start as a trader? Watch this webinar and read this thread for hundreds of questions and answers.

I see the same on my ES chart. The documentation says E:This means that Chart >> Chart Settings >> Use Evening Session Times is enabled.

Which I read that it only says you are using an evening session template but not that you actually are in the evening session?

OK that would clarify it.

But then the real problem for me is the DOM. Here is how I have my sessions setup:

Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

But I have to disable the evening session, because the profile is always wrong, as you can see here:

Please register on futures.io to view futures trading content such as post attachment(s), image(s), and screenshot(s).

It should be showing me only the current session profile, which it does when I disable the evening:

Here are my profile settings. I've tried both separate evening yes/no, it makes zero difference.

What I desire is to plot profile only of the current session.

The documentation says:

Use Separate Profile for Evening Session

When this option is enabled and you have defined and enabled the Evening Session Times in Chart >> Chart Settings, then a separate Volume Profile will be displayed for the evening session. So you will have 2 profiles per day. This option is only valid when using a Fixed by Time Volume Graph Period Type and the Time Period is set to 1 Day. You must have defined and enabled the Evening Session Times in Chart >> Chart Settings for this to work.

This implies that you have to change the Volume Graph Period Type to Time. And use a Time Period of 1 day.

I don't know whether that works, I did not test it.

And it may not work because your evening session spans two days.

What about using two DOMs? One for RTH and one for the evening session?

It won't let me change the Volume Graph Period Type. It reverts back to "From Session Start Time to End Time".

I am sure it is just a configuration setting somewhere, because when I first put profile on my DOM I could swear it was working correctly. I just can't figure out what I changed, or how to fix it..

Maybe @josh knows.

In your VbP, try changing "Number of Bars for Fixed Bar Count" to 1. That may do it.

Also, I have a mouse button mapped to the Sierra hotkey which enables/disables the evening session, so I click it on any chart to quickly change from RTH to 24hr.

don't mean to 'muddy the water' but how do you display the dom with volume profile in SC? That's very cool.

thanks,
