#6 - Allow background colouring on the Last Trade Size DOM column to be coloured based on trades at Bid or at Ask
simple improvement would mimic the best feature of the TT DOM to see when they blitz the bid or ask in size

That is possible !
One of the reasons for my post

check Chart -> Graphics Settings Chart ->
find: Trade DOM Last Traded Recent Ask Volume Background

click enable

That setting pertains to the Recent Bid or Ask Volume columns, not the Last Size column, sadly

I just need the same capability for that column and we're off to the races

Now if they could just add:

1/ An economic news study to overlay on a chart advising of upcoming releases
2/ Produce their own divergence study that can be applied to any other study (user contributed ones either do not work well enough or are hard coded to plot price divergence with a particular study).
3/ Allow more order types to be set on the ChartDOM
4/ Turn the Chart Trading right click menu into a context sensitive ones so it only shows the order types that are valid for where the pointer is relative to current price so as not to drop you straight into an 'at market' order unintentionally.
5/ Provide for off line documentation so I can swot up on the train or plane (they have said they will look at this).

Then all will be well in the world

1. This is something that we really to not have the time to be involved with, with all of the other development we are doing.

2. We will see about this longer-term.

3. Be more specific about what you require.

4. We will put this on our task list. This should be done sometime in the next 3 to 4 months.

5. This is on our task list already.

Hi @SierraChart

re 3. above.

See this thread of mine on your Support Board: https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?ThreadID=19023

Feel free to respond to that thread on SC if you have any further questions and want to keep all the discussion in one place.

Basically I am looking for more flexibility to determine order types on the chart DOM eg using orders placed ABOVE current market price:

Buy Column - left click = Buy Stop and right click = Buy Stop Limit
Sell Column - left click = Sell Limit and right click = Sell MIT (market if touched)

And vice versa for orders placed BELOW current market price.

Right click could be other key combinations eg Ctrl + right click

Thanks

I have read through the support threads for quite a while and it seems like I'm not the only one looking for some added functionality from the Last Size column on the Trade DOM. some of the functionality from the time and sales (ability to combine or not combine by price/size/time/condition and more importantly, the ability to colour the background of the last traded price by bid or ask, which would mimic the best feature of the TT dom, to be able to see when they hit the bid or ask in size. The Last Size column could be very useful with just a few tweaks imo

1) How long have you been using Sierra Chart?

About a year.

2) What are your favorite features of Sierra Chart?

I like the customizability of the platform as a whole, especially the charting tools. I also like the look and feel of the user interface - simple and to the point. Aside from these aesthetic qualities, the charts load very quickly, you can run more than one instance of Sierra on the same computer with very little system resources being used. My favorite way of trading is to use the ChartDOM.

3) What are some must-have deal breaker features in Sierra Chart that you could not do without?

ChartDOM. This is an extremely efficient feature for people who are placing a lot of orders throughout the trading day. It's one of the best features in Sierra Chart for highly active traders. It's much better to use than the regular trading DOM. This feature alone makes Sierra Chart worth it for me, even though the entire platform is extremely good.

4) Do you use Sierra Chart in simulation mode only, or do you place live trades with it?

Live.

5) Are you a discretionary trader or an algorithmic trader? How does Sierra Chart help you with this?

Discretionary. The efficiency and speed of Sierra Chart is just phenomenal. I mentioned the ChartDOM earlier, which helps me place trades incredibly fast and with pinpoint accuracy. I don't use any indicators except sometimes an exponential moving average, but I can see that there is a huge number of stuff here that many people would find useful. The charting tools are extensive and very easy to use. They are also highly customizable.

6) How easy/hard was it for you to learn to use Sierra Chart?

There is a bit of a learning curve, but no different than using another platform.

7) How do you rate Sierra Chart's customer service/support, assuming you have needed to use it?

The customer service guys at Sierra are very blunt and to the point. I appreciate this, though some may find it difficult to get thorough explanations out of them.

8) Do you believe Sierra Chart is competitively priced?

Definitely the best deal out there.

9) How do you rate the community support that exists for Sierra Chart?

The forums are very active, so the community support is awesome.

I too have found them receptive to adding small enhancements and amending documentation, oh and of course fixing bugs.

@SierraChart

Now if they could just add:

Hi @SierraChart

What is the current time expectation for 3, 4 and 5 in the above posts?

PS: I have posted a message just now on the SC Support Board specifically about #5 (as there is an existing thread).

Thanks
