I am using IQFeed. I have not noticed what you are describing. I am using 24 hour charts.

Mike

Could you PLEASE help me out by answering a few questions so i can try and work out if my setting are correct -

1> What chart codes do you use for the various symbols? eg - for crude oil I use QCL#C, for gold i use QGC#C, for ES I use @ES#C.
2> Do you use a historical chart for daily time frame?
3> For historical daily data source, do you use primary service server or sierra chart historical data service?
4> What time do you have set for historical daily data download time?
5> What time zone have you selected?

Thanks very much for your help in advance,

MS

Thanks Mike

You have been very helpful.

Its the chart setting's where we seem to have a difference. I have been using a historical chart for my daily chart. I also use Brisbane (+10AEST) but I dont see how that could make any difference.

I decided to do a test using NYC time zone and everything else the same as yours.

For a daily chart I got different results - For the close of yesterdays @ES#C bar I got 1308.75. When I go into chart settings and change the Intraday chart to historical chart and look at the close I get 1314.75 which I believe to be correct.

Mike, could you please tell me what close price you have?

Thanks

MS

Mike,

Also, could you please take a screen shot of your advanced settings in chart settings so I can compare.

Thanks

1314.75 is the settlement price. I am not sure why 1308.75 is being shown. You should ask Sierra Chart. I've never noticed this, as my daily chart is only used for volume profile and I don't think this would make any difference.

Yes i was just about to type a post to say that even as a last price, 1308.75 does not seem correct. I think the last price was 1315.

Do you think it is an IQ Feed issue since it is data related or Sierra because of the historical versus intraday chart setting?

Thanks

MS

A sierra issue.

I believe the historical daily charts use the "daily" bars downloaded from IQFeed. Those bars are created at IQFeed and use very specific times for the start and end of sessions. If you want your intraday charts created from tick data to be the same then you have to match up the session times exactly (which can be tricky, especially with Sierra's limited session abilities).

That's my guess anyway.

Yes you are right I think. I don't use sessions, I prefer 24/7 charts.
