Hi,

I read in some places on the web that the connection of Sierra charts to TT causes problems with getting accurate Ask/Bid Volume data. I have no idea what this means. I use Sierra Charts with Open E Cry and I use the Numbers Bars charts with Ask X Bid volume. Should I be worried about this issue?

My broker's data feed is TT, and it is not of acceptable quality for ask/bid volume studies. But OEC provides a different data feed, so TT's data is irrelevant for you. But if you want the best quality data, DTN IQFeed is what you need.

This issue is discussed extensively at the following thread, though you have to be an elite member to access it.

But I can tell you that over a year ago I compared some of the broker-based datafeeds including OEC. The numbers were significantly different than DTN's. I called OEC and was told that they aggregate their data. If they still do this, their data will be inaccurate for volume studies.

The combination of Sierra Chart and CTS T4 seems to be an excellent one. The CTS T4 Bid/Ask data are said to be quite reliable and I heard that SC's connection to CTS T4 is very well implemented. I hope to switch to that combo pretty soon. You might check if your broker offers CTS T4.

Hi Mike,

mabe you can forward the following questions to Anthony:
1) Does SC plan to add a Pullback Column to the Numbers Bars Study?
2) Does SC plan to improve the Trade Window, e.g. faster selection of number of contracts?
3) Does SC plan to add order types like Iceberg Orders?

Thx a lot!

An additional question for Anthony is: Does SC plan to add the functionality "Estimated Position In Queue" to the Chart DOM? That is a quite helpful function and contributes to making the trading live easier.

Yes, but CTS's commissions are $0.50 extra per side ($1.00 RT). This could easily cost you more monthly that DTN IQFeed's flat rate. For example, Velocity's commission for the ES is $3.62 RT, using TT. They don't offer CTS because of the higher commission. I know because I asked.

I'm with you regarding the Pullback Column. This would be a lovely and much needed addition for the Numbers Bars.
