I have a moving average price cross-over system with different entries and exists to be calculated. For example:If price pierces a SMA then enter vs. if price closes one bar above the SMA vs. if price closes 2 bars above the SMA. . . additionally I have different exit areas for these entries as well.
If you are interested please respond.
Thanks,
Tomb using Sierra / Infinity - I will pay a reasonable fee.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
- this is for backtesting more than anything! It has 2 entry and 3 exit possibilities - too many for me to manually calculate. Is this something you can help me with?
Something like this would be easy to do in an Excel spreadsheet. Sierra has its own inbuilt version which would do the trick.
When you add a worksheet study, the values of any other indicators are contained in the worksheet, so you get access to the MA values.
If you are backtesting, the spreadsheet could then indicate the entry and exit points on the chart so that you can visually check them. If you want the actual trading statistics, if you do all this is a Trading Worksheet and run it in replay mode, it will automatically give you all the profit and loss and trade stats..
