It's only available for Metastock I believe. Would be nice to get something similar for Ninja.

Hi @cory,

Great indicator! I am curious about one line in your code:

avgVolume = EMA(EMA(Volume, volumeEmaAve),1)[0] ;

It seems like with a period of 1 for the 2nd EMA this might be equivalent to:
avgVolume = EMA(Volume, volumeEmaAve)[0] ;

Is this the case or is there another purpose for this technique?

Thanks,

Nil per os

this vol MAc and hvc and alert were coded by others so I have no idea.

I though this is relevant to volume discussion, email from tradershelpdesk,

Quoting

For years I have tried to understand all the different concepts on volume and, for years, those concepts have evaded me. Low volume, high volume, hidden buying, hidden selling, springs, upthrusts, and the lists just goes on and on. Finally, I just took volume off my chart as I did not feel that it was giving me an "edge".

I would go back and read Wyckoff, only to begin anew and, again, give up. Finally, it hit me -- I am probably overcomplicating the concepts. So, again, I revisited the ever elusive volume analysis but this time I threw out everything I knew so I study it with fresh eyes. And, this time, I saw it. In fact, it is so simple, I was left wondering why I could not see it the first time.

First, you have to determine if you are in an uptrend or downtrend. This means on the live edge of the market, are you making higher highs and higher lows or lower lows and lower highs or neither? If the answer is neither, then it is simply noise, nothing more (experts call this congestion or consolidation depending on who you talk to)...

it is price action + volume indicator thus any tf, any bar type is ok, there is no 'best' signal since some like more signal some like less signal just keep in mind bigger tf = less signal.

Hi Cory,

I use VolumeStopV7 on the ES 60 Min candles with IB data feed. Are there any parameters of settings you would suggest changing to optimize the signals? For example, I use it on a Globex chart and the volume is reduced during the ON session, should I reduce the look back period?

TIA,
RF

I use 3 price bars and 3 volume bars fix thus there is no parm to optimize.
