Thanks guys! We got home from the hospital today as we had to go back in for his bilirubin spike (common in prematures), but home hopefully permanently. Lil guy is doing really good and we are incredibly happy with him. This is me, Ilario, and Purrbot (who has been craving attention since I got home).

Many thanks to the site and all the contributors. Great source of info.

Thanks

I thought of that too, for Purrbot. If I end of making one that is reliable, I think I'll call it that.

Taking a half day today and tomorrow to be home for a dr's appt and to be home with him. I think I'll fire up the trading comp when I get home while mom and baby are sleeping to do some sim to check out market dynamics.

Many thanks to the site and all the contributors. Great source of info.

Lessons learned. Focusing on building back up our emergency fund as of now. Once that is completed, I will build up the trading account to a significant amount and work with that. No play terminology as that lacks the seriousness as which I take this chosen profession. Will be simming until both are completed and not live, unfortunately. Replay only for now.

Wife is being a stay at home mom, and we can afford it. I'm incredibly glad about this.

Except for the stay at home mom bit, I think we are in a very common position

You are blessed, my friend. It will all work out in time. You are young, time is a luxury I do not possess.

So that job was a bust. It was a contractor for a company which shut that position down a week after I got into it. Found a different job, but that company paid incredibly poorly but had great people. But with a son on the way (6 weeks!), I need to be able to provide for him securely with everything I do and that job just didn't cut it. Found another job with a 50% pay raise and jumped on it. Been here two weeks and I love it. Great people, great atmosphere, and the company JUST went public last month .

I've been out of the markets as trading would be a detriment to my trading acct, even moreso on my wife's pregnant psyche. Right now, with this position, I will be able to work and let her stay home with our child. I've got to do things right for him and us and will work back into trading when feasible. I really feel like trading will give me the freedom to live how I wish.

While I was looking for those 3 weeks, I started my own company as well. Got a web designer, drafted up the Articles of Incorporation, and just finished our logo. Next up is to manage the content I've written and start building business relationships. I'm a busy guy, but I love it Now it's five and I've gotta

Congrats on the baby!!!

I had similar story! I got my car stolen, then two weeks latter got fired. Got a new car and new job and three days after that, my SON!!!

Everything gonna be alright!!! The most important is your son now!

Trading wise, with all this volatility, I'm certainly not trading the first 10-15 minutes of the open. WAY too shifty for me. I see 5 points down (yes, points!) in one 1 minute bar and then back up 4.5 points on the next 2 bars.

First trade was a short. Watched it for a while before I felt comfortable. Today is VERY fast moving. Made the trade based off movements on the 70 tick chart. Took the short, it went to 10 ticks in the money, paused for a few seconds, then went to 15 and I closed out.

2nd replay trade of the day. I suffered through some heat on, but knew the fundamentals were good. On the tick chart, the price moves SO fast that making a pretty trade to eek out the absolute maximum is more of a risk than I am willing to take. TF Market has started to show a negative trend instead of my previous trade's sideways action. Also, given how much volatility there is per minute bar, I had a great feeling the trade would come to me. I've had better trades and larger resulting trades, but on a day like today I'm not complaining.

+ 11 ticks. Total on the day thus far, +26.

One trade left.

How big was your stop loss? looking at the chart it should've been over 3 points, other wise you would be out of the trade. You said "I cannot STAND to be in a position that is over 11 ticks out of the money". Is it just because of volatility?
