> Astra Zeneca, got my first shot on Wednesday, the second jab will be in 11 weeks.
-- Did you/your Dr select this for a reason, or was it by chance?
> It was by chance.
-- Were you given priority in a "list"?
> No, actually I just got eligible based on age according to government's specifications / requirements which are quite complicated over here in Germany .

> Apart from a slightly sore arm starting around 10 hours after the injection, I felt cold and flu like for a day and a little tiredness / fatigue as well.

> Feeling happy and reliefed about being vaccinated because it's the only way to get back to 'normal life', even if it's still a long way to go.

Hadn't mentioned it as the thread had gone quiet. But as @farrahfeeney made a new post (welcome to the forum), I had my second Oxford Astra Zeneca jab on June 3rd and had no side effect symptoms at all.
I didn't really have any after the first jab either (post #6). My mother and brother who had slight effects after their first OAZ jabs also felt less to none side effects after their second.

-- Were you given priority in a "list"?
> I'm 57 so technically I was "overdue" but I was mostly just waiting to see how many people were having issues. I was unable to find any vaccines ANYWHERE (CVS was booked solid, etc.) but was initially able to get the J&J variant but decided I really preferred to only go with Pfizer or Moderna. The next day after bailing on the CostCo J&J offering, J&J was temporarily pulled/restricted so I'm glad I dodged that potential bullet . I found out that CVS was posting availability each morning around 6:15AM so I sniped one of those at a CVS about 30 minutes away (minor PITA given there's a CVS literally 1/2 mile from my house, but w/e).

> Mild sore arm but only from the first shot (no fever, etc.); wife also had Moderna and had a pretty high fever and was wiped out for 8-10 hours but fine otherwise; daughter had Pfizer with similar experience that wife had.
-- Anything to add related to the injection?
> Other than vaccines received as a kid (MMR, etc.), I've NEVER had a flu shot and can count the number of colds I've had on one hand in 35+ years - not sure if there'll be any long-term effects from this vaccine yet (and probably never will) but it's nice being able to live life "more like normal" now.
Sadly I'm even more cynical now that this was but just one (of probably many) "bio-mistakes" we've had to deal with - humans really can suck at times...

Pfizer x2
By Chance
There were priorities, after that everything was aged based. So I did mine when my age came up.
TX, USA
No side effects at all
Did you get it yet?
Here in TX,
- at the beginning of the year, you were making appointments 7-10 days in advance and you might have to drive 35+ miles to the appointment, if you were lucky enough to find an appointment.
- 2-3 months ago you could probably make an appointment locally 2-3 days out. (I had mine in April at a pharmacy 2 miles away, with appointment made 2 days earlier)
- now every pharmacy has walk in appointments available. I think supply now exceeds demand. Not sure if this is because of excessive supply, or only people left to be vaccinated are the reluctant ones.

-- Which injection did you receive?
Astra-Zeneca
-- Did you/your Dr select this for a reason, or was it by chance?
only choice. The doctor ran out of Johnson&Johnson in the morning.
-- Were you given priority in a "list"?
Priority 4. Here in Germany, Astra-Zeneca had issues so it was not popular with young people and was not being used up as fast as Pfizer-Biontech or Moderna since people had a choice. So in April, many local Governments opened up Astra-Zeneca and J&J to anyone. So instead of waiting for someday since Priority 4 was near the end of the line and vaccine supplies were low, I signed up with a local doctor in May for an appointment on 17th of June. Next shot in September.

Bamberg, Germany
-- Any side-effects from your injection?
sore arm. flu like symptoms for over 24 hours.
-- Anything to add related to the injection?
happy to get the first shot and looking forward to the next so we can turn the corner on this virus.
-- Did you/your Dr select this for a reason, or was it by chance?
Only type available for my age range....tried to get Pfizer, but hit govt brick-wall
-- Were you given priority in a "list"?
Called for appointment to locate vaccination centre, waited in line 20 mins for 1st shot and scheduled 2nd shot 12 weeks later (still to come)
-- Where do you live?
Melbourne Australia
-- Any side-effects from your injection?
1st shot:Moderate flu symptons 4 days...then lack of energy for another 6-7 days after. Still waiting for 2nd shot
-- Anything to add related to the injection?
Australian Govt stuffed up securing enough supply, big time, so AstraZ is my only choice, sadly. BUT glad to be in the process of building immune resistance to this virus.
