Monday 5-7-12

I'm running a few entries real time as I clear up some studio paper work. The anaBarTimer is great for this with it's
snappy alarm triggering just before the end of each 5 min bar. I just look to see if a setup bar formed while my
focus is elsewhere. Sure beats just starring at the screen for hours on end. I always wait for the bar to end anyway.

Trade 1

Friday saw a big sell off. Looking long
125am Buy limit at a PB to VWAP filled @ 777.5
136 Stop tightened by 2 / 3 ticks below edge of wicks
137 I'm trying something new - target just below high. Sell limit just above.
154 +12 / BE+1
159 London pending / BE+2
202 Just survived the London spike
203 the order Plan worked …. So far

+23ish Long

206 Moving target short to S1
209 +7
216 +12 / BE+1
220 I was so focused on holding the trade to target that I forgot what I was doing .
**************The short was a Counter Trend entry!! take the 10 ticks and run!!*************NOTE

+1

Trade 2

225 Buy Stop @ 780 / Looking for a BO
245 filled @780.1 / Stop -12 / Target yesterdays Low / +40ish
247 Volume support with move
300 Taking heat / -3
319 a little breathing room. ( Man…. this is the way to manage a trade. Place / fill the order and do something else
+5 a check back frequently)
328 +7 / stop to -4
340 moved stop back to correct position when heat came… ( Why did I move it anyway??? lol)
352 HH / no volume
422 PA is bad / tightening stop again
425 HH / whew / that was tough in real time
427 Target tightened to closest SR line on hourly
436 +12 / BE +1 ….ahhhhh
457 Target hit with ease and price moves on.. oh well . I took the best target.

Daily goal hit.

Tried some new stuff today... and survived ... good lessons.

I'm going home

I'm taking a wee little break away from the computers... I was starting to dream charts.

See ya in a week or so. Back to nature for a while

Tuesday, 5-15-12 Replay study

OK. Back to my 5 min chart studies.

I have been keeping up with my swing trade positions during my break.

I have started to make money in my swing trading the spot
currencies and am digging my way out of the learning curve hole I dug for myself. It's interesting the way you can
lose money so fast, but making it back seems to be a slow, steady grind.

I'm using daily and 4 hour charts - making the use of the 5min chart for the futures seem a bit like
madness. I'm going to try and focus more on the 30 min chart for the TF and use the the 5min for order
entry.

Trade 1

1120 PA makes a series of HH's and HL's. - Entry on PB to VWAP om 5min
1125 Filled @ 776.8 / Target adjusted just above Y-VWAP on hourly chart - To an old consolidation area.
1207 +12 / BE+2
1213 Holding long through test of high
1227 No rejection of test of high. We're going long.
1237 +14 / Target still looks good to me
1256 +15 / HH
100 BO / +25 / Lock in +15
103 Target hit

Price closes exactly at common closing area on hourly - previous day

+31

Daily goal hit

Welcome back

This is my last study push before taking some live trades again. Shooting for the end of next month.
Feeling strong.

5-29-12 Replay study

OK. I loaded up last weeks data to study so I will have a feel for the current market conditions when
I start pulling the trigger live once again.

The swing trading of the spot currencies is going very well. I'm using hedging more and more.

Trade 1

1100pm The charts open to a little bull trend. A fade appears to be the first opportunity, however.
1111pm Sell Limit @ 772.1 for a quick scalp - countertrend
1115 Not filled switching to a long entry attempt
1120 Buy Limit @ 771.4 / move to 20ema
1123 order filled / target search - most conservative is 1 tick below yesterdays high @ 773.3
1128 trading into a resistance ceiling so I will go to BE quickly.
1206am +9 / stall at test of high.
12313 HH / +11 / BE+2
1231 +14 / bag a few more ticks profit- +4
103 Target hit

+19

Trade 2

104 studying PA @ the big resistance area on hourly chart
110 the expected hard PB at the Y-High level occured. / I hesitate to fade a retest
114 Bulls retest quickly and create a HH / We may be on to my secondary target of Hourly R1
130 the expected stall at the key level occurs. / must wait / holding out for London open
204 London brings a break out to R1
206 R1 is hit / I looked at that target first. Ah hindsight
211 Instant bounce off R1 / Obviously, some traders simply have Sell Limit orders just sitting there.
223 Sell limit @ 774.9 to try and catch a fade off major resistance / fixed 15 tick target -countertrend
234 Order filled @ price / Target moved to bounce off VWAP
306 Target hit

+25 ish

Trade 3

307 looking for an entry bounce long off VWAP
310 Buy Limit @ 772.2
330 Filled @ price / target - retest of high
331 stopped out

-5

Ahhh... should've quit when I was ahead. Oh, well. That trade has won for me in the past many times - just
not this time.

Daily target hit.

Good practice.

5-30-12 Replay study

Hourly chart shows big swings in both directions with a slight bullish bias.
Small, fixed targets seem to be the call for the day.

Trade 1

1042pm Fading on test of low / Buy Limit @ 772.1
1047 Filled at price / 15 tick target on bounce of VWAP
1101 Stop tightened by 2 ticks
1127 +11 / BE+2
1140 Target hit

+15

Trade 2

1155pm Sell Limit at formation of a PA edge on top of VWAP @ 773.7
1200 Filled at price / fixed 15 tick target

+15

Trade 3

140 Sell limit at doji spike 773.1

+15

Trade 4

205 Looking to fade BO / 10 tick quicky
215 Buy limit @ 770.1
219 touched but not filled
236 Sell Limit 771.7 / PB to 20 ema
241 Not filled

I'm calling it while I'm ahead

Daily target hit

God, I hope I can keep this going.

5-31-12 Replay study

Yesterday was a bit more trendy with a large sell off. I may be a bit more flexible with targets today.
I will start out with the 15 fixed target.

Trade 1

1045 pm No setups yet
1147pm No Setups yet
1204am The bulls start taking off. this one may leave me
1206am There is room to the upside. / I have to find a PB entry long
1243 can't find a way in
121 Finally a little PB to the MA / Buy Limit @ 761.3
202 The London open gives me a swing low / filled at price
204 Target move to SR / y vwap / y-poc confluence
210 +11 / BE +2
218 Target filled

+22 / a great PB entry for me / I don't like entering during a break out trend

Trade 2

228 PA @ pretty strong resistance area on hourly
234 Price bounces hard off SR level. / I'm gettin good at identifying these levels. It takes a lot of
pressure off of exits.
236 PB to VWAP / the true test is near.
240 a set up bar forms / but it is within PA and scary / holding off ( turns out to be a good decision)
245 Sell Limit on failed test of high @ 763.2
250 Not filled on first try.
301 moving order to 763. 4 / fearing a test of high / price touches previous local. damn
307 Filled at price / price testing by 1 tick as expected. / let's see if the bears win

-5 / bulls win big

************* I made a mistake betting against the VWAP bounce / The bears were rejected at that point*******
Learn!!!!!!!

Trade 3

316 There is big room for the bulls now, it appears
337 Price moves on

Getting a little tired / I better quit

No daily target, but in the green

A good learning lesson on trade 2 - I simply was not focused.

6-1-12 Replay Study

Large 100% swings yesterday. No clear Large Time Frame Bias.
Small fixed targets will be the strategy today.

Trade 1

1035pm Buy Stop Limit 1 tick above low of day @ 752.6. Looking for a retest bounce long
1047pm Order Filled @ price
1104pm Target Hit

+15

Trade 2

1125pm a battle for the VWAP is underway
1139pm it appears it may have been more of a DB and bulls are looking for more. That's cool- I took the safe target.
1150 Bulls looking for a breakout.
1209am Buy Limit @ 754.3, PB entry attempt long / using retest of VWAP
1257 PB just missed me. Order cancelled. Bulls appear to be in trouble
110am Sell Limit @ 755.7 / order @ the common price of several candle bodies . (Edge)
202 The London open fills @ price / Moving target to retest of low of day / 1 tick above / Stop 1 tick above wick
205 +15 / BE+3

+15 I chickened out when I saw the big PB of the swing low bar. Moved target to 15

Trade 3

212am Still a slightly bullish bias
214 a huge bearish bar with a strong PB wick / Fade entry Buy Limit @ 753 w fade atm in affect
223 +12 / +10 locked with trailing stop

+15 stopped out on ATM trailing stop

Trade 4

227 crazy PA / complete battle mode
230 No PB wick on large bullish bars / No fade entry per my rules
250 PA on the inside of range / no trading
259 Price in very tight range / slight bullish bias still
305 Buy limit @752.7 / fade ATM
307 Not filled / looking for a short
325 Sell Limit @ 7541 / Common price area near VWAP
336 Price leaves me and makes a huge push to S1 on the hourly charts
348 Buy Limit at Yesterdays low 749.7
406 Price crashes through yesterdays low

-5 stopped out

Pretty good work at fading the extremes. But, I missed the bigger picture of a failed bullish bounce
and then the continuation of the larger time frame selling.
This was the trade for better traders than I.

I have a hard time passing up these quick hit trades that I know are good for around 15 ticks most
every time.

I, also, find it interesting that I seem to do my best in the PA that trend traders avoid. The
consolidation channels. Fading the extremes is like shooting fish in a barrel. I'm only
lost once price breaks out. I find it very difficult to enter precisely during a hard trend.

Daily target hit.

Market ranges most of the time, so just get good at identifying when it is trending and don't trade during those times
