Replay of 7-22-11

Prior day saw a big move up starting at 5am cdt. The bounce occurred at 930am, retracing about
a third. A steady climb up started at 11am and lasted through the overnight. The Globex session
saw very little volume. I started at 551am.

Trade 1

I used a modified ATM on this entry. Price was trending just before the
choppy area I was entering in so I used my Trending ATM with a tighter target
inside the current channel.

+11 when I pulled my stop up close on stall.

Trade 2

A poor BO entry in choppy conditions
+3 exit on stall

Trade 3

A quick turnaround long after the failed push low
I placed target at a safe place - a bounce off the MA's
+11

Three full trades and out per my rules
up $ 222 for the day.

This concludes the weeks replay, exceeding my weekly goal.
Up $1354

I'm enjoying the Traders Dynamic Index indy, but lost the dynamic SR lines.
I feel my charts are complete and I'm enjoying logging up the screen time.
I really feel I can predict most reactions in the TF.

The rebuilding of the trading account is excruciatingly slow. All in good time.
....loading another week of data.

My dabbling in the EUR / USD spot market is break even... much more unpredictable
than the TF. But at least I am able to trade live money and get use to keeping my
cool.

I'll post some more charts of the EURO stuff in the future. I forgot to take some screen shots today.

Selling started at 630am cdt on Prior day (Friday) and bounce to near 100% retracement happened at
9am. The Gap at the open on Sunday was down huge. I think this must have been the start of
all the global madness. Last night had a slightly bullish bias, but was very rangy.
Volume was off and PA looked odd.
I picked up trading at 551am

Trade 1

Definitely looking for small targets, but I kept the Trending ATM in place looking
for a gap fill.
Found a nice PB entry on a double bottom failure short. I placed a nice conservative target
just below an SR level and well below the previous high.

+11 target hit.

Trade 2

Price stalled and consolidated at an SR line, when Price started to back track a bit,
I entered short on a break of a swing low
Target was next SR line down

+12

Trade 3

After a break, I fired up the charts again to look at the open.
I was going to have no
part of this PA and I wasn't going to wait around for it
to clear up.

I may be in trouble if this is a sign of things to come.
There is an imbalance in the force

I'm out
2 trades up $208

7-26-11 ETH Replay

I bailed the prior day with my ETH profits and was not willing to battle the
PA I witnessed at the open. Price moved up after the initial skirmish, then
hit a range bound area until 130pm cdt saw a good sell off that stabilized at
2pm. The overnight saw a move back up starting at 10pm. Selling started again
at the London open. A bounce up happened at 4am. I started trading at 512am.
Volume was up from yesterday and PA looked normal again.

Trade 1

Took some heat on this trade but the stop was in a good place, so I hung in.
Price finally broke and I hit the conservative target of the prior day open on
the 5min chart.
+9

Trade 2

I put my small ball, Range bound hat on and
placed a sell stop just below the consolidation.
Target hit at 10 ticks,
but low liquidity slippage left me +8

I'm leaving money on the table but the near guarantee of 10 ticks with these
setups in the pre-market are nice.

That's it for the ETH / Pre-Market trades. I'll take a swing and the RTH
at my next span of free time.

I left the Replay at 814am cdt and this is where I resumed. There was steady downward pressure
as we closed in on the open. This was setting up to be one of my favourite TF trades. All charts
were saying the same thing- sell.

I placed a Sell Stop just below consolidation and waited for the run. It actually started just
before the open and I was at BE +1 before the bell even fired.

The open hit my full target in seconds.

+20

Up $352 for the day.

I am going to try some Live Sim soon to see if the actual market is this predictable or it
is some kind of Replay fluke. It's concerning me how easy it has become.

The EUR / USD spot trading is going along well and I am earning some money. The two
markets (TF and EUR / USD} act very differently but the entries are the same. PA is PA.
You just have to know what animal you are dealing with.

Feeling confident

The prior day was dominated by selling, scattered with some decent retracements.
The overnight had very light volume and was consolidating.
The London open had a weak attempt to buy.
Trading starts at 505 am cdt. Volume is still off.

Trade 1

Volume was way off, but the selling pressure was constant. I put a Sell Stop Limit
just below the consolidation and waited for the break.
Price stalled at the 10 tick area and it was all I could do not to hit the close button.
BE+1 helps a lot.

+20 Full Trending ATM target hit

Trade 2

My charts were saying that the selling was not easing up, so I
entered on a PB for a re-entry.
One problem - I forgot to check the news reports. Durable Goods is one
to be remembered.
My ATM kicked in and got me filled with a BE+1 in about a second. CRAZY!!

BE +1

Trade 3

One more re-entry on a PB.
The charts were simply not telling it was turning around. I typically
hate these entrys, but I was brave (easy in Replay, right)
exit when daily target was hit.
+12
Up $312 / Daily target exceeded.

Very strange PA coming out of low volume.
Good screen time

7-29-11

Prior day had a run up starting at around 7am cdt. It peaked at 11am and sold off
the rest of the day. Consolidation formed at 130pm and lasted until a sell off at
10pm. A slow grind up led to my entry into the market at 450 am.

Trade 1

A break down, after a double top, was forming as soon as I
loaded the replay. PA was choppy, so I was looking for small targets.
+8

Trade 2

I took big heat on this re-entry short. A bit of a gamble, but the bears finally
pulled it out. I exited quickly before a PB could occur.
+11

Trade 3

Price dropped like a rock after a 730am news report.
I entered short manually and was quickly stopped out.
-10

I went in again after I saw it was just a minor PB
Manual Market entry again.
Full target hit +20

Daily Target hit
Up $ 306

Weekly Goal exceeded
up $1354

I haven't seen PA like that before. This must have been
the beginning of the following week's madness.
I think I will not trade the Replays of the next few weeks because
I would have a short sale Bias, knowing the history of the markets.
I'm going to update my TF charts to the 9-11 contract and trade some
more normal market PA.
______________________________________

I have been crazy busy in the studio - working on two records and trying to keep up with
the normal publishing demo's.

I'm still dabbling in the spot currency markets trading the micro.
Since Oanda is a web based trading software, I am able to have it open constantly
on the studio Macs.

I'm starting to understand the movement of the EUR / USD pair and am starting to make money.
... getting good mental conditioning in winning / losing money, which is the best practice I can be
getting.

Trading Currencies can drive you a bit nuts, however, because the markets run around the
clock. It's tough to get away.
So, I have limited my trading to the main moving times.
London, if I'm awake.
NY
Tokyo, for a couple of hours in the evening.

I feel I own the TF.
I'm just way underfunded to play it correctly... it will have to wait. But, I will continue to
study it inside and out. When the cash comes, I'll be killing.

I love trading

9-8-11 Replay

This was rollover day and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The Globex session appeared
to be shutdown so I began trading at the open. Volume began at 831am cdt.
The prior day saw a big buying run.

Trade 1

After an initial sell off, price bounced. I entered completely on momentum,
the crossing of the VWAP and the CCI Pivot indy. My minute charts were useless
as not enough time was under my belt. I'm not afraid of jumping in on momentum,
because my ATM strat has fairly tight initial stops that then expand as the trade.
develops.

Full target hit
+20

Trade 2

Price failed to break one of the prior day resistance levels, so I entered
short at a confluence area of the 5min and range chart. I was depending
a bit on the CCI pivot indy once again - it's pretty good in predicting swings
in the right PA.

Full Target hit
+20

Daily target exceeded.
up $388

I may have to take another look at RTH. I usually reach my daily goal in the pre-open.
between 5am and 730 am. But, of coarse, the RTH session has much more potential.
I will know for certain when I return to live trading and judge the pre-market fills.

Good study.

9-9-11

Prior Day saw a selling bias.
The Globex session saw a 50% retracement stopping at 9pm, where the selling started again.
Another bounce occurred at 130am retracing 75 %.
Selling took over again at the London open - 2am on the nose and continued until
I picked up trading at 430am.

Trade 1

The first situation I encountered was a bit of consolidation after a selling run.
No HH's were being made, so I was confident placing a Sell stop just under the
last swing low.

After being filled, my ATM target was just at the prior day close and an SR line confluence.
I was not afraid of riding the ATM strategy all the way.
Price stalled just before the target so I closed out.

+15

Trade 2

A huge bullish PB creeped me out at first, but then it looked like the bears were
not quite finished yet. I re-entered short with my target at a re-test of the low.

+20
Full Target hit

Daily goal met before 6am.

I'm interested to see how the fills will behave trading in the ETH like this.
The slippage in replay seems pretty realistic. I certainly keep my
eye on the DOM ladder trading this early, because the spreads can get
goofy. I only exit when the spreads tighten up again.

...interesting....

That ends this truncated week. as I resumed the replay after
the market meltdowns .

Up $726 for the Thursday / Friday traded.

I need my trading account to accrue faster!!
