How "thick" is the HSI depth? is it like ES or more like NQ?

Nothing like ES - and 25% of NQ (150k/600k) is a good day in HSI..

Everyone says for Asia emini N225 is thickest market - but the tick size cancels out any benefit of trading that market. Kospi is meant to be good also but AMP does not offer it.

What feed are you using?

AMP with CQG feed is $550 for MHI and $2750 for HSI.

AMP Margin web site is wrong and I have pointed this out to them, but they don't seem to understand my point so I have given up.

If you are using Sierra Chart with CQG via AMP, you can see for yourself what margin is being allocated by the risk engine when you place a live trade by opening up the Trade < Account Balances window and looking at the 'Margin Requirement' column.

Steve - thanks for clarifying this....I may be wrong but anyone who cares about initial margin on futures trading probably shouldn't be trading in my opinion (never trade with capital you "cant" afford to lose) ....margin on Futures beats full margin on stock trades everyday!!

28 Sep 2020

Could only trade the afternoon session as I spent this morning being a taxi driver for the wife and spent an hour sorting out mortgage mess with my Bank....taking 5 working days to give good value for a money transfer done last Tuesday from another Oz bank - pathetic....the Banks in Australia are a bunch of clowns ripping off the account holders. Luckily the money deposit does offset the mortgage cost for tomorrow's payment.

Enough ranting...

(2/2) + 52tics - my scalp and run strategy on trade 2 worked for once....I rarely use it.

Arvo session 1 quick trade and I'm done for the day...

Hello Godzilla. Does CQG provides tick data for HSI?
Have you tried using tick chart or volume charts for HSI? Would you mind posting a couple, just to compare them with the minute charts?
Thanks in advance

All my posted charts are tick charts (currently 275tick) as provided by CQG.....I've lost lots of $$$ trading off time-based charts and will never go back to them for day-trading....do yourself a favour and pay for the tick feed, it's worth it. Do SIM trading first then go live.
It's pure stupidity to trade live before being able to double a SIM account. I'd go further and say you are guaranteed to blow your account if you cant double it on SIM first.

All my chart-reading is based of PATS (Price action trading system.com) = it works as viewed by these charting results.
Just purchase the PATS manual and watch the daily YT vids before he moves them all into the member section and charges for it....I'm assuming that will happen early next year. But then again $100 for yearly access is cheap for what you get as I'm not aware of any other strategy that is as simple and profitable as PATS for the price. If you've never traded before it's even better as you have less "mental' baggage to clear before being profitable...no risk no return ?
No, I'm not sponsored by PATS (Mack)....I just follow/traded his system for the last 2years and believe he is a genuine trader/educator.

Thanks for letting me know. Great to hear that Mack's PATS works with HSI as well. Will consider it.
Cheers.

What is the little blue square on your charts? Is that an indicator?

Also how/why have you decided on 275 tick chart for HSI, iirc it was 300 before?
