Stick a set a headphones on your ears... crank the volume as high as it can go. Now make sure you have heavy metal on .... That keeps me awake

My favorite time to trade is from just after midnight until around 9am. I've always been a night owl, so this is the perfect time for me. It's nice to make some trades while everyone else is sleeping, and then I get to sleep while they deal with traffic jams.

You may also try and find some trading buddies. Just make sure everyone understands the methods you use to trade. And you understand theirs

I have a skipping rope. When I feel a bit drowsy, I start skipping to get the blood flowing.

That thread has existed since October of last year

We have over 100 people in the nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) Skype group. You can Skype me at ctrl-brk, be sure to include your forum user name if you want to join the nexusfi.com (formerly BMT) Skype group. Otherwise, you can also use the above thread to find a trading buddy on your own.

Hello Everyone

This is my first post so I will try and make it a good one. I live in Australia so I have troubles trading the US session, I found trying to keep myself awake made me trade worse so i went to a new approach for my trading. Here it is
1. Find a market that suits your trading style and time slot to trade. I know also trade The GBP/USD futures in the London session also ( about 5PM here much better than 12am)
2. Speed up your charts to exit quicker(back test First) I know trade the NQ with a 89 tick chart( tick chart (610 for trend) and usually done in about an hour or so
5. Set a profit target and settle with that and sleep.

I let trading consume me as it is addictive but when a learned to walk away with profit I am happy with my wife was happy to. LOL

Cheers

Darren

boredom like watching the grass grow, paint dry, or the hands move on a clock, for that i have been learning what the zone is, being able to stay in the price action and watch the game unfold between the bulls and the bears. i am watching the pushing and shoving going in the trading field. then there is fatigue from the concentration it takes to focus on the game. and then there are the distractions that come after the fatigue, and then there is lack of sleep, fatigue, etc from life's little stories that crop up.

I really only "trade" about 2 hours a day. That is when I am focused on just trading, earning a living, and everything else is a background priority (like the forum, or skype, emails, TV, errands, etc).

Totally agree...Even more so than the mental fatigue is limiting your hours gives you less rope to hang yourself with.
