Interested in learning basic ascil to address SC problems in execution, position/risk, trade management.

I am not sure how you are defining "problems", however, as stated above, the Spreadsheet System for Trading study is pretty robust. I have previously used it for execution, position sizing/risk, trade management, etc. It was fully automated to do all of that.

There is a ton of great information on the below site to give you a taste of what the spreadsheets are capable of.

https://www.sawtoothtrade.com/examples.html

I not positive but I think that the site's owner is the same Tom that post on this board as well as Sierra's support board. If it is the same person, Tom is awesome, extremely helpful, and a wealth of knowledge.

IMHO, understanding how to write formulas with persistent and incrementing variables is the key to creating somewhat robust or complex auto trading systems via Sierra Chart spreadsheets for trading.

I think SC forum help is enough to start and master ACSIL, start here:
sierrachart com/index.php?page=doc/ACSILProgrammingConcepts.html

I could start autotrade code pretty easily, I have been a programmer for years though

You can down load Visual Studio Community Edition, which is free for ACSIL developments

Anyone have experience accessing historical market depth data via ACSIL? I've got a ton of .depth files and can of course load them into a Chart window then do a replay/backtest, but would like to export that data (with the order book (re)constructed true-to-form) for experimentation in Python. Doesn't seem that DTC Protocol is readily set up to access historical depth.

Here's a list of ACSIL functions used for getting this data: Programmatically Accessing Historical and Current Market Depth Data

Here's the Market Depth File Format/structure: Market Depth Data File Structures Used

I've got some 'scaffolding' in an ACSIL script, using their template and some of the functions, but need some help completing.

Team,

I can teach a class over Zoom this Thursday or Friday. I'd recommend at or after 4P EDT. Ya'll pick pick the time.

Let's time box the initial class to one hour. We'll have a second in a week if needed.

For our example we'll set up the environment, write a program based on a state machine, compile the program and perform simple back tests. I'll post the code here after the class.

As long as you aren't a vendor, have nothing for sale, then I would invite you to come on and do a webinar covering Sierra programming. Plenty of Sierra users would benefit, most people watch recordings and can benefit for years to come.
@tturner86 can schedule.

Thanks Big Mike! I’m not a vendor. I’m new to automated futures trading, but I’ve learned enough to help out here.

Thursday 4 EST sounds great, I'd be interested. I've been avoiding Zoom for security reasons if any other platform is possible.
