No trades on 12/10/14
One trade in my live account today - uptrend New High Pull back then a green indecision candle. Entered long above it with stop below it - moved up +3 ticks before reversing and stopping me out. Good trade per my setups just didn't work out. Rest of morning was pretty much range bound until the end of the day started trending down.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
1 Trade today - it was profitable (+5) but I flattened early once again - had I followed my rules it would have been much more profitable - This is really something I have to work on. I can't keep closing out the position when I have some gains - I need to let it go and follow the rules.
Started off great with +27 ticks on first trade - felt good followed my rules and had no intention to make any more trades after that first winner - but then for some reason I made another trade and then another trade - both losers - ended even on the day - errrggh!
I made the 2nd trade hoping for a quick move down and I did not have my stop where price action would have suggested I had it closer because I didn't want to risk much - and of course I was stopped out - then the next trade was similar and kind of a revenge trade and I did the exact same thing.
Positives - I have been stopping my trading when up on the day - even if it was a little profit and not forcing new trades (up until today)
Negatives - I have been flattening my positions when I had a little profit and not letting it run -- although I did that today on my first trade - but then I didn't reward myself for doing that as I made two trades I had no business trading.
No trades made today - missed one in the morning - then there was inventory report and the price was moving to fast and too much for me to trade today.
First day Crude made an attempt above its previous days high - but it failed and pulled back and closed into yesterdays range - interesting to see where it goes from here.
Lessons learned - made 2 real dumb trades after a great trade which I think affected me the rest of the week - I had been real disciplined up until that point - the big gain got in my head I think - missed CL roll over which cost me a 1 or 2 good trades. Need to stay disciplined and prepare a bit better.
