Thx zikonc, I created a new TradeVec thread here:

I also attached the webinar to that new thread and a couple screens.

Hi BM

I think that I solved my NT issues. I went back to open e-cry because their trading platform is powerful and it's FREE. I made a few screenshots here and the zip file contains detailed shots of OEC's DOM.

I've been using MC for a couple of years and love the charting and development tools but they'll have to make some pretty major improvements to surpass what we can get at OEC. I'm confident that MC engineers can close the gap but near term; NT users may find OEC platform a good alternative.

The OEC platform is rock solid; it has allot of features including importation of .net languages ie EL; their DOM is the best; chart trading; block trading; and it's FREE. They offer a consice version of footprint for 25/month add-on. OEC has promised me that they have fixed their datafeed problems so we'll see. I have Zen via MC as a backup and their trade desk telephone number handy. ;o)

I signed-up with optionsxpress through OEC and it's my plan to use MC in AutoExecution mode for stock swing trading and use OEC Trader for futures until such time that MC completely develops the trading interface.

I hope that MC accomplishes this so we can have broker independence one day ;o)

Thanks aslan. Any examples you can provide of TradeVec? I looked around on their website... are you sure they are still in business? Looks like a possible failed startup to me? Or they've just not updated their website in a year and shutdown the community/forum ?

Mike

Yes, they are still in starting mode, and seem to be associated with vcap futures now:

TradeVec - Algorithmic Trading Platform | vCapFutures.com

They have a ways to go in terms of being the only platform that I would use, but the integrated DOM/chart is the feature that I wanted to highlight.

I agree, some really interesting stuff. If you learn more about it keep us updated in that new TradeVec thread I started

Competition is good!

Thanks Ranger, I'm glad you found a reliable platform!

I am going to copy your post into a new thread about Open E Cry specifically so more users can learn about it and share feedback.

The new thread is here:

Yes, their Executions Zones trade entry matrix is very well developed imo.....that is one portion of the TradeVec platform/charting that has been built with good input from some excellent traders.

Interestingly, NT has chosen to make a grand total of zero changes to the DOM in NT7. Thats because they generally do the DOM pretty well. The following are things I would be looking for:

*price static, but manually scrollable
.

Unfortunately that would certainly violate TT fix DOM patent.

They will have to reach an agreement with TT, like PAT and some others have done.
