Amazing chart. Nicely illustrates the 12 year change in NatGas Demand.

The last week bigger moves in NG, especially the spread Jan19-Feb19 (attached image), about 50 cent move that week with a strong move of 25 cents within only 15 minutes. Feb-Mar even bigger.

So far the spread NGF9-NGG9 was about 35 cents the year through but with starting of the heating season the months Jan-Feb-Mar have increased the spread a lot. Don't know if this is the same every year for these months.

ICE of Season Storage Future (which is normally next week) is 3204/3210 which will be the lowest storage level in the last 12 years.

Of course that should have read

ICE End of Season Storage Future (which is normally next week) is 3204/3210 which will be the lowest storage level in the last 12 years.

For what it's worth 3190/3208 today. The lowest it ever traded was 3193 on 10/22 versus a high of 3750 back in January.

Anyway, just FYI NYMEX putting up NG margins $300 effective after the close of business on November 07, 2018

NG seems pretty cyclical and ripe for algo trading and tuning imo

And another $200 effective after the close of business on 11/12/2018.

Winter, or at least the fear of the cold, is rising!
