Thank you for your insights!

Myrrdin, how do you define where your end of day stop should be? Fibonacci? support/ resistance area?

Support / Resistance. My time horizon is weeks or months, thus, my stopps are quite wide.

Best regards, Myrrdin

Myrrdin,

How long have you traded? Did you teach yourself? Do you have a background in the financial industry? How do you pick markets to trade (daily/ weekly charts highs or lows?)

I have a medical background, dabbled with investing for several decades and have followed commodities daily as of this year. I try to see where the price is going using several moving averages and support/ resistance levels. I've been most successful trading small movements in nat gas .

Thank you,
-Bel

Has anyone been trading natural gas futures? NG

They appear to be fairly liquid. The day trading margin is high at $2000 with mirus.

Has anyone seen lower? I currently trade CL and 6E. Looking for an additional volatile, liquid market.

IMHO nat gas is a great instrument to trade. It makes sense. Get the direction right and some nice short term trades happen daily.

I am investing in stocks for approx. 30 years, and I am trading futures and options for 15 - 20 years. Yes, I am teaching myself, and I am permanently learning. My professional background is mechanical engineering - I received my PhD in Fluid Dynamics many years ago. I never had any professional contact with the financial industry.

My time frame in commodity trading is weeks or months, and, thus, I prefer trading large movements. My trades are determined by S&D, Seasonal Charts, and COT data. And I like finding commodities which are misprized - usually in contracts many months away.

Best regards, Myrrdin

Our trading styles could not be more different but we do have one big thing in common....

How would you describe your style? Or rather, how is it different?

I trade almost entirely spreads, and in reality spreads of spreads (ie futures butterfly's). If you search the site you will find more details. But relevent to this conversation, many of those trades are good because one leg or spread, in a back month, is...
