Release 7.10 is out. I see the trickle of bug fixes has slowed to about 4 in two months, but no enhancements. I wonder what they're up to. There are plenty of really useful things on the list for years now. Some of them really really small, that wouldn't take long at all, and are wanted by more than one user, and have been outstanding for years.

Even though there's no real alternative for me, I'm still a bit irritated that I still spend so much time coding work arounds in Ninja. I have the feeling now that it'll never end.

I can deal with lack of enhancements easier than something that crashes inadvertently...

I'm just a simple man trading a simple plan.

Maybe the architecture of NinjaTrader 7 limits the number of possible enhancements. I think that NinjaTrader developers have a tracking system for enhancement, but there is a need to set priorities.

There is another thread on NinjaTrader here , where you could post specific issues

I wouldn't be surprised if they've decided to focus all their attention to NT8, and only provide bug fixes to NT7. From the way Ray described NT8 in a couple of futures.io (formerly BMT) webinars, it's practically an entire rewrite... (my impression, my words)

@Big Mike

Any insight you can share as to the delivery time for NT8?

Mike,

I tend to agree, having worked closely to software projects in the past, you are only fixing critical bugs in the current platform and looking to solve the other issues with the new platform. This means you have very little effort going into the current release except when a major issue is discovered. Otherwise, all programmers are focused on the next generation (easier to support going forward).

I would not want to maintain 2 code tree's myself... I would not expect NT to do that either. This could be a good sign as they might see a light at the end of the tunnel and pulled resources from NT7 to give the next gen a better release date. (My guess, not anything I have heard)
