I'm almost certain that Mr Market will rotate further (up or down) to extend the daily range .. smile .. Trade the bar/candle in front of you.
Beth (I tried the whole morning having my Workplace in good order. No luck and ended up now with just 2 CL charts good to go. We have a huge red bar (still plotting) with the report's release. Hopefully will get an Inside Bar after that. Will see.)
I let the Inside Bar strategies running (sim of course). Guess what happened!!
The Long (based on an Inside Bar) was closed seconds ago with a 29-tick slippage. I never thought that a slippage could be that huge!! SOH while having an important news is a sensible strategy! I will continue this practice.
My "Inside Bar" wish did come true (immediately after the huge red bar)!
Upon completion of the Inside Bar, we had the big Yellow divergence dot on the red bar, ie favor a Long IF it does work out. Well, I was thinking if I should just enter a Buy Stop and not a pair of OCO orders. Then I remembered Vic (a member in the CL room) said "I am paid to enter the orders and follow the entry rules." It's true if we consider it as a profession and we're paid for doing it.
Sooo, I entered a pair of OCO orders both with a 31-tick SL (1 tick above and below the signal bar). The Sell Stop order was filled and I adjusted the SL to 21 ticks (which was 2 ticks above the current bar's High and 1 tick above the daily PP). It's a 1-contract trade (after the full stop yesterday) and I am glad that my PT 8 was hit within 2 minutes.
Nelson and I talked about what happened this morning. He said "Am I being greedy when I did the noon trade?" Greed did not come to my mind until his mentioning it this morning. I was extremely thrilled with 34 ticks (after the heat I took for the TF semi-auto trade) and planned to close for the day. Then the 12:00 noon Inside Bar trade came along. I was thinking "Would be great if I make 8 more ticks to make it 40. Nelson would be proud of me." Sooo, it wasn't exactly greed that encouraged me to do that trade. Rather I would like to make Nelson happy and proud of me. You can tell "Pride" is still my enemy as I "had" been a performer all my life.
I also forgot that having profitable trades (even one per day or even weekly) is an accomplishment. It's my oversight that I made over 30 ticks in one morning "was" a milestone and the right move was to close the account off.
This morning I was in a troubled mood. Workplace in my trading station has not been working .. because I tried to set up some ES charts to fill the gap. Luckily I realized I should focus on my "bread and butter" set-up and finally started doing so 30 minutes before 10:45 am. My full stop experience was still with me (I blamed myself a thousand times last night). Then eventually asked myself let off. Will do better and lessons learned.
Did 1 good trade to break the spell and I am now officially done for today. Mr Market cannot get my ticks .. haha ..
We do not have any more Inside Bar set ups after the morning one. There's a profitable Outside Bar with PTs filled at least 15-20 minutes before the 2:00 pm speech. The SL cushion (surprise surprise) was quite comfy to fit my preference. It does not happen often LOL!
I just turned back on my trading station (after hours of breakdown). Found out it's the download speed (too turtle for NJ to pull up the charts). I thought I finally got settled with a reliable service. Unfortunately, Nelson wanted to make it better and moved the Rocket-Hub many times last night - that explained why the morning turmoil.
I am the one who prefers as-is when things are working. He's the one who moves things around "hoping" to make it better!! Men and women come from different planets .. Glad that they mingle happily together!
Can't believe that it's another heavy-duty news morning! Will SOH until 10:45 am .. smile ..

Just made 10 ticks from an Inside Bar set up (finally had one at 11:30 am). I placed a pair of OCO orders even I worried a little that the Buy Stop order may get hit and does not run. Well, the Sell Stop order got in and I adjusted the normal PT 8 to 10 after entry. Why? All indicators looked good for a short such as a big Divergence yellow dot on the most recent HH + the CCI indicators both hooked down.
Note: I am prepared that not always work out with a Divergence dot etc ..
I'm done for the day. 1 good trade to make my day!! As of this moment, I have made 35 ticks this week (possibly $300 after commission). Not sure if I may trade tomorrow when Mr Market quite often claims my gains. Let me sleep on it .. smile ..

For the record (just in case my yesterday's PM post caused confusion): I did not trade the Outside Bar yesterday, ie I followed my plan and closed down after the first profitable trade.
