Since late afternoon yesterday I've been seeing an issue where the window containing the chatbox and recent posts list (on the right of the chatbox) is unable to load.

So far I've tried:
1) wiping out cookies and site data.
2) opening the javascript console to find any errors when I post
3) clearing cached images, files, refreshing, etc.

I'm on chrome on macOS, I also tested on a fresh firefox query and the problem persists.

Hi snax, I am experiencing the same which may suggest is more widespread than one user.

Someone used special characters in chatbox. That nukes it.

@TheShrike, @wldman, @bobwest have reported some "weird" issues with the site today, such as not being able to make a post in @wldman's thread:



The error with that thread is that all reply buttons are showing up as magnifying glasses instead of links. I am able to duplicate the problem and am looking into it.

I would like to know:

Anyone else experiencing issues with something other than the above thread?

If so, please let me know some specifics so I can look into it.

Right now, I am doing some maintenance on the site to try to identify the issue, and during this process the site will be up/down for a few minutes at a time -- sorry in advance.
